Booked into the West House to attend friend's 45th Wedding Anniversary and 80th Birthday.Set in a beautiful location the hotel had great parking facilities and a welcoming and friendly staff to greet you on arrival. The room we had was ideal being on the ground floor and the beds were very comfortable and the room was nicely decorated.Shower room was everything you could ask for with lashing of hot water and a powerful shower head.At the evening party an assorted buffet of sandwiches and selected savouries was laid on and at breakfast the following morning a full Welsh brekkie was available with toast and tea/coffee.Staff were attentive and made you feel welcome.Hope to visit again especially if the sun shines as the hotel has beautiful grounds to enjoy a drink in.

We attended this hotel recently for a family wedding. The hotel is beautiful and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. However, its spoiled a bit by the many rules, the DJ had to be in a certain place even though we didn't want him to be there and we had made this clear previously, the management refused initially to hand out the wedding cake, which they had previously agreed to do. We were told we could decorate the marquee on the Thursday, then we were told we were unable to, despite the fact we had booked days off work.

The music was promptly turned off at exactly midnight, lights turned on and people who had just purchased drinks were made to feel uncomfortable finishing them, as the staff made clear that all the rooms were shutting immediately. Bar service is very slow, poor choice for breakfast and breakfast finishes at 9.30am which I feel is a little early.

This is a beautiful country pub in Bridgend which at the moment serves no food but the cabaret and drinking hours are second to none. A must if in this part of lovely Wales! good garden for children and the landlady is a loonie!

Last July I got married at the Westhouse Country Hotel, we booked it a year prior. Planning out wedding was made easier by Mr Christopher and everyone who worked hard to make our day the happiest day of our lives. We had two cakes, two fountains, huge centrepieces, flowers, balloons, a surprise Beauford and much more, but they were more than happy to accommodate what we wanted. Even popping to Tesco the day of the wedding to get me an alternative soup! The staff are incredible, the venue is beautiful. We had photos taken by the pond around the corner and down on Llantwit Beach, my photos looks amazing! Our wedding party/family stayed the night of the wedding so in the morning we all had breakfast together which was so lovely. If we were to do it again, we would not change a thing. Everyone who came comments on how beautiful the venue looked and how welcoming and lovely the staff were.

We cannot thank Mr & Mrs Christopher and their team enough for helping us create my fairytale wedding. We look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks time when we spend the night of our first anniversary at the Westhouse Country Hotel.

Forever grateful,
Mr & Mr Murray

A very warm welcome by pleasant and knowledgable staff. The room was very clean and the shower brilliant, a fantastic wifi signal allowing me to keep in touch with home from my room rather than a public area which was a pleasant change.

The food in this hotel really stands out as superb, the evening menu is superb the only problem being I only had a week to sample it, on the bright side I am returning for another week and will try to finish the menu, breakfast was very tasty and it wasn't too much trouble to prepare what I asked for rather than it being an all or nothing full cooked, the very helpful staff even found me my favourite peppermint tea.

I would highly recommend this hotel for what it is a friendly, welcoming, and pleasant experience.

Dawn was the stand out staff member for me, very helpful and always cheerful.

We stayed here just for one night when we attended a wedding at St Donat's Castle nearby. The hotel staff were very welcoming, helpful and efficient, from booking, through check-in and to check-out. The staff at breakfast were especially helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and had all that we needed, the after-hours entrance was easy to use, and breakfast was very good - whatever we wanted, cooked to order.
