We saw the church on our way from Alghero to Costa Smeralda and were amazed by its beauty. You can do a longer tour of other churches in the Logudoro (Saccargia in particular) and it is really worth it.
The church is on a small hill top and you can drive all the way up on a very narrow road or leave the car at the bottom of the hill.
The church has a lot of interesting features such as the asymmetrical facade and the upstairs rooms of the Bishop.
We were very lucky to be guided by a very nice and knowledgeable lady from the archeology & ticket office. Her English was excellent and she presented not only the church but also the historical context. I am sorry we did not make a note of her name. She was absolutely great and helped us understand more about Sardinian history.

The 12 century Basilica di Sant'Antioco of Bisarcio is one of the largest Romanesque churches in Sardinia and located in the countryside of Ozieri. It has a lovely portico with rounded arcades and is certainly worth a visit while in the region. Admission was only 2 Euro per person.
