“Amazing !!!”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

We recently stayed at this hotel for my friends wedding and it was absolutely fabulous.
The hotel is right on the beach with a gate to access it, just open the gate with your room key, down the steps and your right onto the gorgeous white sandy beach - amazing !!!
The hotel is spotless, staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The food is lovely and plenty choice for everyone, even fussy eaters like me.
The bar also offers a great selection of cocktails and only 5.50 euros, cant go wrong at that !!!
Great hotel and would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the sea, the view when you look over the pool onto the beach is absolutely bre...

We had booked to stay at this hotel for just 2 nights but after the first night we decided to extend our stay to 7 nights . We had a superb room on the third floor with a balcony that over looked the sea , The room was clean light and the bed were very comfortable as was the bathroom , we were staying on a breakfast and dinner tariff with both been buffet style the food was superb with a very good choice at both meals over all I would recommend this hotel to anyone :)

As it was our 43rd Anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to an overnight in La Zenia. The hotel was spotless, the rooms a good size and very clean, although the bath towels could have been bigger. The staff very polite and friendly. The facilities were very good, and the food was of a very high standard. All in all a great experience.

Room Tip: We had a sea view on the 5th floor, the room was quiet and comfortable

Overall very good. Here are however a few suggestions for improvements:
- free safe deposit box in the rooms
- pool towels available in the pool area(if not free, a 5 euro per day charge?)
- do something about the bad wifi reception in the rooms. We stayed on the 5th floor, and it was so slooooow;)
- all personell should know a minimum of english. We had a waiter that seriously didn't understand 1 word.

We just returned from a 7 day stay at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We flew from Luton on Monarch leaving our car at Airparks and then hired a car at Alicante for the drive down to La Zenia. Take your sat nav with you and tell it to avoid all toll roads and you won't have to spend loads of euros driving around! Anyhow, the hotel was great, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and for families with young children its a good family atmosphere. The facilities are good and are well maintained although the wifi access is not good all over the hotel - seems to work only in the central 'core' of the hotel - we couldn't get any coverage in our room at all. There was entertainment every night and it did get a bit annoying hearing the same salsa-esque music till 1am every night. not great if you are tired and want to chil out. That said, there was free entertainment and we saw a magic show and flamenco dancing free of charge in the hotel so it cant be too bad. The clientele is mainly european with very few brits. So in a way, a good thing....The two pools are great and we all enjoyed going for a dip in them - make sure you get your sun loungers early! The beach is fantastic, absolutely agree with other reviews that it is spotless and it sort of feels very much exclusive to the hotel being right outside and down the steps from the pool area. We stayed half board and this gave the best of all worlds for us as we had a hearty breakfast and then either lunch or come back for dinner. Food quality was the best we have experienced in Spain for this type of hotel and the dining staff couldn't be more helpful. They work very hard for a great customer experience so my hats off to them. As a base for relaxing, this was an excellent hotel, with a fantastic shopping mall a short drive away (Zenia Boulevard) and other interesting towns and cities worth exploring too - including Elche, Torrevieja and of course Alicante. We even did the 3 hour drive to Alhambra in Granada which was an experience. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel La Zenia. The hotel has a nice ambiance and family friendly. There were also some good facilities at the hotel including strong wi-fi. The meals were very nice, good balanced menu and choice of settings. Afternoon tea on the terrace was a treat. Our room was well equipped with good views of the sea. Good location - literally steps to the beach!

Room Tip: Sea views are a must

The hotel was very crowded. Breakfast was included for everyone and was a noisy "wait in line affair" each day. We chose the half-board (a mistake) because we had a car and could have driven out for other meals. We were probably the only non-Europeans in the hotel - which is generally fun - but the crowded, noisy meals and the completely full parking lots left us searching for parking and battling the families with small children. {I drew the line when a family with childen was in the hot tub in the SPA with a sign clearly posted requiring silence while the kids kept diving into the hot tub.} DInners and lunches were loud, crowded and limited. The beach was not a private beach for the hotel, so it was especially crowded all the time and a bit of a walk. The pool was small, but nice. The staff was exceptionally helpful and very kind. The rooms were clean and quite nice. Our own fault for vactioning in August!

Room Tip: Ask for a full ocean view. We were on the third floor and the wind was like a tornado.
