“Excellent in every way”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

This fantastic small hotel is located in the small fishing town of Puerto de la Vega. The owner, Mila, has created the perfect relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast has a great range and being served until 11.30 you can truly unwind at your own pace. The area is stunningly green and in July the weather allowed for us to make use of 2 nearby wonderful beaches that are quiet and enormous. We were lucky to be able to reserve the superior room, almost like its own apartment and well worth the extra cost. We cant thank Mila and her excellent team enough, it was a real tonic for the soul and would recommend to anyone looking to explore the beauty and variety of the Western Asturian coast, it absolutely is the green coast.

We spent an unforgettable week here for our honeymoon. It is the most charming little hotel, in a beautiful, quaint little fishing village.

Our room (La Faneca) was impeccably clean, spacious but cosy , and the interior décor gave it a personal touch. We had the most lovely view of the sea and fields. And after long days spent exploring the town and the region, it was wonderful to come back and soak in our large jacuzzi.

We absolutely loved the breakfasts! Great coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit in abundance, delicious local cheese, yoghurt and cured meats, not to mention Mila’s fabulous homemade cookies. And of courses eggs prepared to one’s liking.

The staff were incredibly friendly and constantly went beyond the call of duty in making our stay a really special experience. We are already planning our next visit to Pleamar (despite living on the other side of the world)!

Many thanks to Mila (the wonderful proprietress) and her team!

Room Tip: La Faneca has a lovely view and is very large. La Golondra on the top floor is also great - smaller...

We detoured to Puerto de Vega specifically to stay at the Pleamar after having seen it on Tripadvisor, and what a great decision that was! The hotel has been lovingly crafted from two old terrace houses by the owner, Mila. The attention to detail is wonderful, from the very comfortable beds to the huge candles in the lounge and the sea-themed pictures and ornaments throughout the hotel (Pleamar means high tide). The breakfast was outstanding, including plenty of fresh fruit, options for eggs cooked to order, and irresistible home made cakes. Mila and her staff were kind and helpful. A great place, and Puerto de Vega is lovely.

Room Tip: The "special" rooms are well worth the additional cost.

Found this little gem on a round trip in May 2012 through the north of Spain rather by chance.
Very glad that we did, this is the hotel for anyone who likes small personal hotels. service is impeccable, English speaking, the complete hotel is very thoughtfully decorated using maritime/fish/boats topics. Great breakfast to enjoy. Nice location with the harbour and small restaurants in walking distance.
Only downside is the road between the hotel and the sea, this road connects Puerto de la Vega with Navia and can be perceived as disturbing.
Slightly more expensive in the general context, however worth every cent.
We planned to stay only one night and extended to three, that says it all.

For me, this is the new standard in hotels: tasteful ambience, comfort, quiet, oceanfront, great breakfast spread (great coffee), wonderful hosts, good value This place has it all! Perfect stop along the northern coast of Spain in quaint fishing village.

Room Tip: Get the suite with jacuzzi tub and view of ocean!

Lovely hotel situated in peacefull village close to walking routes by the coast. Friendly service and great attention to detail. Perfect breakfast, with strawberries on season. Very tastefully decorated common areas and rooms. The only downside would be the road and traffic passing by - noise to some rooms.

Beautiful nautically-themed hotel, with lovely attention to detail. Immaculately clean, with comfortable living room, small bar and pleasant terrace. We were lucky enough to have the two top attic bedrooms, which were wonderfully spacious and quiet with a good view of the fields and sea beyond. Very nice breakfast, and extremely friendly welcome and staff. Ample parking and an easy walk into town where you can eat wonderfully fresh fish at a handful of local restaurants.
