“Lovely peaceful place, ideal for walks further up the mountains.”
Reviewed 17 July 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We really loved it here and enjoyed our stay. Usefully, there's a small shop in the village. There are 3 restaurants within walking distance and another further up the steep lane past the Hotel R el Nogal (which has one of the restaurants), up on the main road. However we only tried 2, tand not the closest which had blaring music everytime we walked past and that put us off. We glanced inside.... huge screen TV on, that put us off. We looked in the restaurant windows and no-one there was that part actually open we wondered? However the main place we ate at was down the main road past the noisy one, one of the last buildings on the left. Deceptive, it has a large room with good views behind the area that you enter. Friendly waiters and the menu del dias is good value with wine and water.
At the house we particularly enjoyed that garden when it wasn't to chilly or too hot(!), and when peckish we raised an arm and plucked a ripe loquat (nispero)!!!
In April the house was very chilly, loo-trips at night mean wearing something on feet and a coat/wrap of some sort. Each morning I was chilly and took a time to warm up.... except the last 2 days which was ok, so it really depends on the time of the year you go there.
We had really good walks up near teide. In particular el sombrerito (I think its called), get there early and park near the start.... only room for a couple of cars just after the barrier.
HINT: When we arrived we couldn't get in as the gate was locked so we couldn't get to the key box inside the garden. Not finding a phone box locally to call the owners (we'd lost our mobile a couple of days) we eventually resorted to walking right around from next door. Only to discover that the gate WASN'T locked after all, but so tight it kept defying my attempts to open it especially from the road!!!
We prefer key boxes as it means that we don't have to plan who has the key if we split up un the day. Note also that the door must be locked..... it doesn't lock itself as you shut the door.

Liked best: Absolutely beautiful garden, and eating loquats straight from the tree!
Liked least: Chilly. Though this could be a big benefit in the summer heat!
