If you are looking for all inclusive full on entertainment this is not for you, but if you want charm and genuine Spanish style this is the one. we booked on a last minute deal and did we strike lucky,
We had two of the rooms away from the main building under the trees cool and quiet and lovely seating area right out side our rooms, The house is loaded with history and the tuesday tour is a must do, as this is a small and friendly hotel the staff all get to know you and you are made to feel more like friends than guests, The buffet continental breakfast is very good and for a few euros a variety of cooked is available, we did eat off the bar snack menu lunch times this also very reasonable, They will order a taxi for you averaging about 5 euros will get you to Mahon or Es Castell , the restaurant around the harbour are are very good we recommend Dinkums,

Room Tip: Rooms away from main building under trees are best at hottest time of year

Booked this hotel through Thomson's and this must be one of the most unusual hotels which they use. We stayed in the main building and it is just like a museum or English stately home (polished oak staircase, paintings and artefacts) Our room was basic but comfortable with a large bathroom. Despite being at the front of the hotel we were not disturbed by cars or other guests. The weather was very hot for the first few days and we would have really appreciated air conditioning in our room and would have been more than happy to pay for it as we have done in other "small & friendly" hotels. The hotel is very clean and staff friendly. The other guests were all very friendly and we enjoyed chatting over a few drinks in the bar.

Room Tip: Would say the rooms in the main building are best. We had Room 10 at the front of hotel so did not have a sea view.

Stay here for a wonderfully relaxing two week holiday, had a delightful room in the main old house, although the rooms around the pool had their own benefits. We were staying bed and breakfast only and explored the restaurants of Mahon and Es Castells with great success. The people at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, (many have been there for decades) and the hotel suited our expectations and requirements in everyway. Like an old and comfortable pair of shoes the hotel is worn around the edges, but clean, interesting, charming and everything worked perfectly well. Situated between Mahon and Es Castells, (about 15 minutes walk either way) or a 5 euro taxi ride! where you will find many, many restaurants, bars and cafe's. The best of which are off the main thoroughfares, (Bar Espana) fewer views, but better value and the main thoroughfare outlets were not too bad if you read the menus carefully!

Room Tip: Main house north side has best views and although it is near the airport (15 minutes drive) the flight paths and aircraft are not intrusive.

Lovely staff and setting but stayed in Room 9 and was awoken every night by the sound of furniture being moved and shuffling footsteps...am amazed nobody has commented upon this...and no it was not the gin! Met some lovely people which is important as a solo traveller but would not return as it is more of a club than an hotel.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the main house although the terrace is charming.

Wow! What a great little hotel. Compared to the modern hotels in Es Castell and Mahon, this really is a brilliant place to stay. It is more like a museum or stately home inside with guided tours of the house on a Tuesday. Ideal location to walk to Mahon harbour or the great restuarants around the port of Es Castell (about a 20 minute walk in either direction). Good bar prices, friendly and helpful staff, a small pool and two terraces to have a drink or sunbathe. All in all a fantastic place to stay in Es Castell
