We ate here three times during our ten day visit to this resort. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was good. The owner was very nice and always welcoming. Would recommend a visit

Called in for an impromptu lunch midweek. The waiter took our order for drinks before giving us the menus and we settled down to make our choice but despite very few tables being occupied the waiting staff seemed in a great hurry to rush us into deciding on our food order so we settled on the three course menu del dia which looked fine and there was the nice touch of a small pot of pate on the table and free shots at the end.

The meal itself was acceptable but not exceptional ( the fish dish was disappointing) but the main problem was that it was not made clear to us when taking our order how our drinks order was going to be handled in view of the fact that we had already ordered two beers before deciding to have the set menu del dia. As this included beer, a 1/2 bottle of wine or a soft drink with each meal we naturally expected that our initial two beers would be concluded in the deal with the bottle of water ordered subsequently together with an extra beer being billed as extras but when the bill came we found that the bottle of water was free of charge and the beers were all charged at full price - this was not a deal breaker but was not very generous on their part given that we had clearly just arrived and they were presumably hoping for repeat custom from us.

I would go again with friends but not make a special trip

Of the restaurants in Cala'n Porter, the Samoa ranks in the top 3. The wide menu choice is superb; the service friendly and impeccable with each guest greeted by the owner Louis whom I've known for more than 20 years. A perfect choice.

We visited the Samoa twice for an evening meal during our week long stay in Menorca. Everything about the experience was fantastic. The waiters are welcoming and friendly, and they are really good with the children. The ambience is relaxing and peaceful and the service attentive. The food was really good. We would have liked to have tried the menu of the day for about 16 euros, which is excellent value but our four year old won't sit still long enough for us to stay for three courses!! Highly recommend this place - the washrooms are also really clean.

How this restaurant remains at #2 in rankings is beyond me. First visit was pretty good (we were the only customers), second was not so good, third (not my choice!) was poor. It is a nice, comfortable restaurant, and in a great central location; but the food is incredibly average, and the owner is quite rude. Shame, because the rest of the staff are great and can't do enough for you. Having sampled most the local restaurants, Big Al's, Pito's and Sa Piassa are much better. It is worth a visit, just don't expect too much, it isn't cheap, but very average.
