This is hotel is excellent value. Rooms are very well equipped and clean. The breakfast is also very good. The hosts were friendly and offered good advice about things to do and places to eat. There is parking at the front of the guest house or in the street at the side.

Myself and wife stayed here a few years ago and it was excellent.we decided to have another 2 night break Wed 12/12/1, Thurs 13/12/12 and found it even better than before, Danielle offered us a free upgrade to the huge superior ground ensuite due to off peak, this room was best we have stayed in and we have been in quite a few over the years. The breakfast was superb and even had salmon as an option however full English was more than e regularynough for us and you can tell it was good quality and fresh.Don,t care what previous guests have said, believe me this is 4* and situated in a lovely part of Northumberland. We regularly report on Tripadvisor good and bad but struggle to find any negatives, £78 for stay was an absolute bargain.Gavin and dani very friendly and happy to help in anyway possible.

Room Tip: can only really comment on Superior room but it is a listed building in quiet area so we would have anything that Danielle can offer and will be using them again

We had a 2 nights stay you could not fault it for a winter offer we paid £45.00 per night for a very warm large room with a lovely breakfast, gavin and dannielle were a very friendly couple the house is in the centre of the village a couple of good pubs right on the doorstep had a lovely time dont know what some people want it is a lovely village will go back in the summer and will stay here.

Room Tip: very quiet at night so no need to worry

When we booked this we were a little unsure due to previous reviews.
We arrived after 4.00pm (4.00pm was stated as check in time). There was no one available to show us our room. We rang the number shown in the hall and were informed that there had been an emergency and that we should use room 1 and the key was in the door.
The room on first impression was lovely however, we then noted the following:
Mould on the bottom of the blinds and a large area of mould behind the shutters (good job neither of us are asthmatic or have breathing difficulties)
The noise from the toilet system (saniflo) and other rooms
Dust/cobwebs on the walls
There were very small bath towels and only one hand towel (I appreciate that this sounds picky) but from a female perspective a good size bath towel and smaller towel for my hair goes a long way.
The room was cold and the heating only appeared to come on later in the evening. To be fair it was warm at night.
Shower was good if you could reach the controls. I don't consider myself to be small however, the shower screen was stuck fast (couldn't move it out of the way to reach shower/bath taps), good job my other half is v tall with long arms.
(Again, maybe picky) the tea/coffee facilities appeared good however, they didn't appear to have be replaced from the previous occupant. The (2 tea bags) and bits such as speciality teas (2)seemed well handled (not by us). Again in fairness this was replaced the following day.
Breakfast was good (full English) altho we not given a menu or other options.
We heard guests arriving the following evening and they had the same problems as us in that there was nobody to greet/show them to their rooms (not sure of the excuse for this)
Overall
Poor in relation to meet/greet from owners
Reasonably comfy bed and clean linen
Good breakfast
Great location
Poor cleanliness (ie mould, cobwebs/dust)
Towels too small (Picky I know)
Saniflo noisy
Reasonable price to a degree
