Visited this B&B for a night away from the kids purchased through Living Social. After reading other reviews thought this was a cracking deal - and we wasn't disappointed. We were welcomed with a hot face towel and a glass of bucks fizz. The room was spacious and well kept. Facilities were good including a well stocked dvd library. Filter coffee and fresh milk being available in room was a welcome luxury. Breakfast was good with good quality ingredients. Would of liked a selection of cereal and yoghourts on the side to choose from.

Would recommend and look forward to staying agai,

Arrived late afternoon to a welcome glass of bucks fizz in the lounge. Audrey is a real asset to the hotel, made us feel very welcome, shared some local knowledge with places to eat, drink and visit nearby. We were shown to our room, the amethyst room, which as very clean, well presented and warm. The bathroom has underfloor heating , a double bath and looks to be very new. The bedroom was well furnished, little touches such as mugs which were not mass produced, a small plate with invidual mini bit size cakes were a lovely touch.
Bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding and feather duvet made for a great nights sleep.
Breakfast was delicious, vegetarian option was tasty. They also offered full English and smoked salmon and various egg / meat dishes.
We ate at the queens pub in the viallge, they have sperate restaurant part and food was really good there with a wide variety.
We will definatley be returning to The Orchard House. Perfect for all occasions, from a weekend away to anniversary, birthdays abs weddings. Couldn't reccomend the place enough!

We arrived early but were warmly welcomed by Audrey who proved to be an excellent hostess, friendly and professional without being intrusive. The accommodation is very comfortable and there is a wide choice of breakfasts, all with locally sourced produce which was well cooked and presented and very tasty. Despite being the only residents for the 2nd and 3rd (midweek) nights of our stay, all areas of the accommodation were well heated and we had a great time walking the wonderfully scenic countryside around Rothbury and exploring the Northumbrian coastline. Our first visit to the area but already looking forward to a return to The Orchard House.

Room Tip: We were in Room 1 which fronts onto High Street but was perfectly quiet. We also saw inside some ot...

Fabulous! A little bit of luxury only 40 minutes from the city! Can't recommend this place enough. Staff were extremely welcoming and attentive and the breakfast was delicious. We went on a miserable January day and the staff put the open fire on for us on request which was a treat. Reasonably priced for such high service and surroundings. Don't hesitate to book!

We arrived late afternoon and received a Warm welcome, with a glass of Buck's Fizz and were shown to our room which was quiet and comfortable with good central heating, essential for this time of year. We had a very comfortable night and in the morning we were served an excellent breakfast. All in all a very good stay. We would recommend this hotel

We have just returned from a romantic birthday treat in The Orchard House's 'Blue Room' (Suite), & I can safely say that we had the most delightful R&R in Rothbury. Audrey & the friendly team there ensured that - from greet to goodbye - our stay had everything we needed, without any intrusion. The quietist of bedrooms; despite being close to a village road (thanks to amazing secondary glazing) - the loveliest of bathrooms, with room for 2 to bathe: and a mattress to literally die for... everything else paled in comparison (avoid The Queen's Head if you want uninterrupted dining, as the early 90's rock ballad filtered loudly into ours!). Situated between sea & national park, we will not hesitate to return when next sky gazing/beach combing in Northumbria; meantime, do not hesitate in booking this fine B&B.
