“"A great value break"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2011

We have just returned from a two night midweek break at this hotel and and have no complaints whatsoever, We had a premier loft room which was spotless and very comfortable.
Ate both nights at the Italia + restaurant downstairs and the quality of the food and service was excellent. All the hotel staff were really friendly and could not do enough for you. Would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Room Tip: Can only comment on premier loft room.

stayed here for two nights for the weekend, absolutely wonderfull staff. We had a basic room, but it was clean, large and spacious with extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. Restaurant on site was good

My husband and I have just spent an enjoyable weekend at this hotel. Wasnt too sure when I saw the outside but delighted with everything after our stay. we stayed in a delightful loft room, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Two comfy chairs, mini bar, and all spotless.
Food and service in the restaurant and bar were spot on. All the staff were extremely pleasant and very attentive an example to many other places we have stayed in. A very enjoyable stay.

We've just spent two nights at this lovely hotel. We opted for the re-furbished rooms at the top of the building; definitely worth the walk. The room was really well designed, work space & kettle etc at one end, comfy armchairs at the other end. Appreciated the bright, well appointed bathroom. Everything really clean & high quality.

Better still was the food & friendliness of the staff. The food was clearly excellent quality, carefully sourced & beautifully cooked. Breakfast was a feast. As we only live in Cumbria, I'm looking for an excuse to go back in the very near future.

Room Tip: The refurburbished rooms worth the extra money, in my opinion, as someone who likes sparkly new bath...

Booked this last minute on internet .. very disappointing .Dirty carpets throughout .. our room was grubby ,wallpaper peeling off the walls and horrible stained carpets. After a long day walking we were looking forward to a nice hot bath .. it was not to be . apparently there was no hot water due to a sudden surge of people wanting hot water ?? We were told to wait 20 mins but that did not work either .. had to make do with a luke warm bath - not impressed at all . Booked a table at the restaurant within the hotel .. had to wait half and hour before they even offered us a look at the menu ... luckily the food was lovley otherwise we would have checked straight out . Will not be going back there again
