We had an overnight stay at the Coquetvale Hotel. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room large with spotless white bedding - very comfortable.

A small hotel situated in the village of Rothbury just a mile and a half frorm the lovely Cragside. Good sized room with modern decor with lovely views of the surrounding hills. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic food in the in house Italian restaurant.
Service excellent and friendly. An absolute bargain. We will be back.

We have just returned from a 3 night break at this hotel. The bed in the room was ENORMOUS and very comfortable. Yes we were above the kitcehn and you could smell the food cooking and there was also a litle noise from the extractor fan but it didn't prove to be a problem. The staff at this hotel are excellent, very hardworking and pleasant. We would certainly recommend the Italian restaurant. There was something to suit all pockets and ages, from Pizzas to steaks. Not quite sure what rating this hotel was aiming for we would rate it about a 3 1/2. If you were a bit picky it did fall down on some aspects i.e. no bin in the bathroom, no tissues in the room but thats all they are - picky things. All in all a very nice hotel situated in a lovely part of the country with some lovely plces to visit around it.

My partner and i enjoyed 2 days at this hotel over easter. We could not fault the service at all and the room was spotless even though a shower above the bath or in a cubicle would have been an improvement on the combined bath/shower mix at tap level. The bed was comfortable but did not have a headboard? The attached italian resteraunt served very ordinary food at high prices including pizza that my partner struggled to cut even with a steak knife.I have a dairy/wheat intolerance and had very little choice. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. Expect a bit more for £70 a night and £30 each for an italian meal.

We arrived at the hotel-ONE DAY EARLY (OUR FAULT).they opened up just for us and our room was large, newly re-furbished with settee, large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi.Spotless.
Very polite and friendly staff ensuring that everything was satisfactory for you.A very popular Italian restaurant is in the hotel, but with a separate entrance which does not disturb you.we stayed 2 nights B&B and were sorry to leave.
The impression given to you by the outside appearance of the hotel is not indicative of the inside .flower beds would soften the entrance.
