One of the best B& Bs we have stayed in. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, everything you need. Breakfast with a fabulous view of the valley below. Food freshly cooked in any combination from the menu. Anne and her husband are delightful hosts.

Wow-this a beautiful place-we had the mill race room-it was fantatically spacious, and SO quiet-on a farm but no noisy cockerels-slept like a log. What a fantastic place to stay-in the middle of nowhere but a town only a few miles away- what made it so good however, was the breakfast room-WHAT A VIEW-oh and the breakfasts are wonderful and the owners so friendly-perfect!

Ann is a natural host, lovely location, lots of help with trips and tips, little thoughtful extras in the rooms( wine glasses and corkscrew, toiletries and so on) comfortable beds and good sized bathrooms, my grandson said the breakfasts were the 'best ever' ..Ann's french toast and bacon take some beating!
Ann deserves all her awards and we will return...best visit - Alnwick Castle Gardens and the water features....a must plus if you visit Holy Island ( and lets face it we all do) the Barn at Beal is sublime for breakfast, elevenses, lunch and more....

We were welcomed by Ann and had a very comfortable stay - the room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice available. There was a nice ambience and it certainly helped us to enjoy our short visit to Northumberland. Ideally situated for visiting sites such as Cragside & Alnwick, as well as those a bit further afield.

Lovely welcome from John; large room, good bed, excellent shower, lots of little touches like cotton buds, tissues, sewing kit, coffee, tea, chocolate and FRESH milk. The choices at breakfast were wide and everything was freshly cooked. Tosson Tower is in an excellent spot to explore the wonderful Cragside House and gardens, Alnwick Castle and their marvellous gardens, Kielder Water, the magical Lodenshaws and a climb up Simonside. Lots of good places to eat locally so perfection. Do go and explore Northumberland, a hidden gem and stay with John and Ann and enjoy their warm and friendly hospitality.

We had struck gold! The welcome when we arrived could not have been any friendlier. Ann showed us to our room - The Rose Room - on the ground floor in the converted mill complex. High ceilings. A chandelier in the bedroom. Tiled bathroom. Wonderful shower. There was nothing that we could have asked for that would have added anything to our rooms that were to be our home for the next 6 days. Good additions, and thoughtful ones, were the 2 wine glasses and corkscrew. The entrance hall had a fridge in it which had fresh milk in it for those of us not too keen on UHT milk, and space for us to put in our own bottles and food.

The information pack had everything in it from places to go and menus for local restaurants and inns in the area. Nothing had been left to chance if you had not researched the area before you went.

The breakfasts were lovely. Served in either a conservatory that overlooked magnificent countryside, or a breakfast room if you wanted more peace and quiet, Emma glided up and down the corridor from the kitchen to the dining areas with such an air of calm that suddenly the morning didn't seem to be such a bad thing. She was amiable and a natural with guests. A nice touch was the serving of porridge if you wanted it, and the use of French toast (eggy bread) on the cooked breakfast. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Marie took over on Emma's day off - the total opposite of Emma, her high octane energy got us all motivated in 10 minutes! Another lovely lady! Ann and John are lucky to have such good staff.

There is so much to see and do in the area you are spoiled for choice. Lindisfarne if you want just one example of a superb piece of coast, or Alnwick Gardens, Wallington or Cragside if you want a leisurely stroll around gardens and country houses all within a 15 miles radius.

Dibbs the farm cat will make himself known to you - we were lucky enough to have him escort us on our nightly strolls - and Lad the farm collie is one soft dog if chucked under the right bit of chin!

John was as welcoming as his wife, and their son was as personable as the rest of his family. They all have their part to play in making a holiday at Tosson Tower Farm one of the most wonderful holidays we have been on, and we are already organising our next trip up there.

Enjoy!!!
