My husband and I stayed a week at Apartmenthouse with 6 apartments, incredible view. From the time we booked the lodging with immediate response from Raquel replying to our questions to our departure and waving good-bye to her on the narrow, winding road, we enjoyed our stay immensely. If you are looking for a quiet accommodation, this is the place. It is situated on a mountainside above and across a valley to the small town of Hermigua. There are no planes flying overhead, there are no cars whizzing by and there is no nightlife sounds. You hear roosters crowing, feel the warm breezes on the rooftop terrace and watch beautiful sunsets beyond the distant mountain.
Upon arrival, Raquel spent time giving us maps and information on restaurants and sights to see. The apartment is very nice and the kitchen is equipped enough to cook basic meals. Wifi is available and reliable.
Hermigua is very convent for day trips to all parts of the island. We hiked in the national forest; we hiked on Rocky Mountain trails; we made a day trip to San Sebastián; we made day trips to other beaches to the west.
It was a wonderful stay! If you like to hike and you like a peaceful atmosphere, we would highly recommend you stay with Raquel and Nunu.
The apartment we stayed in had lovely views, the flat looked over the beautiful green Hermigua Valley. The flat had everything we needed in terms of amenities ( kettle, fridge, cutlery and crockery)and the owners, Raquel and Nunu were lovely and readily available to help with anything that was required. If you are looking for a relaxed holiday in the middle of all that nature has to offer, this is the place to go!
We stayed here for 4 nights in December and the weather was chilly in the evenings so we didn't make use of the roof terrace which is the apartment's main attraction. The apartment itself was compact and the kitchen area was quite small with only a 2 ring hob so limited cooking opportunities.
We weren't keen on the bathroom being directly off the kitchen area but overall the accommodation was fine and had an electric heater which was welcome in the evening. The sitting area had a small wicker chair and a creaky camp bed that wasn't too comfortable for sitting. There was a small table and 2 chairs on the terrace outside and this would be lovely in the afternoon sun.
The location is about 3k by road from the village and about 15 mins walk across the barranco to the village - a bit longer to places to eat.
Raquel was very helpful - she picked us up from the bus stop and took us to the supermarket before taking us to the apartment. She was very informative about the area too.
If you don't like or allergic to cats don't go as there are a lot of cats living around the apartments. I think cat lovers probably allow them into the apartments so they sit outside and look longingly at the door but aren't too persistent if you don't take any notice.
Overall it was fine for a few nights and, if the weather had been better and we'd had time to sit and enjoy the sun we might have been more impressed.
I travelled here with my boyfriend and my parents, so booked two rooms. We arrived and were welcomed by the guy, rooms where lovely and spacious. He explained the internet, TV, hiking trails and BBQ etc. Very friendly and welcoming.
The apartments where lovely, big beds, nice bathrooms, small dining area, seriously impressed with the kitchen, it had everything except an oven which I can live with!
They even have salt, pepper, coffee, sugar, etc all the extra touches, which really count, especially if your only staying afew days and have to buy them things.
Loved the decoration inside and outside. The views are gorgeous. Unfortunately we had cloudy days but I'm sure on a sunny warm day this place is spectacular.
You are in the hills but not so far from the town centre, a drive is about 8mins, walk maybe 15. Not much happening there anyhow, Very quiet area but if that's what you want then perfect! Very Canarian and your very intouch with nature! Would go again!
On arrival we met Rachel who gave us very informative recommendations with historical and ecological backgrounds for the best places to see and where to eat.
The best thing was, waking up in the morning and watching the sun creeping along the steep slopes into Hermigua. My favourite location of the house was the roof top with comfortable seats, plenty of lights and a BBQ. The apartment was very much to our liking, especially the placement of the bed, from where we could watch the sunrise. For people like us who like hiking, it was very convenient to have quite a few circular walks nearby and the fact that Norbert took us by car to the Garajonay National Park from where we gravity aided got back to Hermigua. We loved it!
