Where do I start? Second trip to St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
This was a great stay from start to finish. We traveled with other couples which made the adventure great fun.
Check in was fast and our bags actually beat us to our room. WELL, ok so we went straight to the poolside bars. The poolside bars make great tropical concoctions.
Walking out the back of the lobby you are in an open atrium that faces the property, pools, resturants, and finally the Ocean.
All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They appear to want to make sure that you have a great experience. Or maybe they want to be sure to get good reviews???
The rooms are spacious, modern and extremely clean.
The selection of resturants on the property is so great that you do not have to leave the hotel to find a menu that satisfies. Everything that we has was well prepared both steaks and seafood.
One evening the manager held a reception for Marriott Rewards members and the whole management staff was there to greet and welcome us.
Please remember that this hotel is on the ocean side of the island so there is usually a slight breeze coming in off of the water, this is pleasant when you are at the pools, in the atrium etc. But we suggest that you make use of the beachside chairs when you are on the beach. If you try to lie on a towel in the sand you will find yourself slightly more sandy than when you first lay down. The waves are great for just playing and body surfing in the beautiful clear water. The beach is virtually yours in both directions and not at all crowded.
Take advantage of the concierge desk. They can make reservations for trips and transportation and they make things a lot easier knowing on the front end what everything will cost.
We strongly suggest that you take time to go on the full zipline trip. But make sure that you go on a day when the cruise ships are not in port. If you go early you are not crowded or rushed and your guides will make sure that you have a great time. We have ridden other ziplines but these are by far the best we have been on.
If you are going to the seafood shacks directly across the island you can take a five minute taxi ride or walk about half an hour. Make sure to ask at the desk if they are going to be open when you get there-- we didn't the first time but it was a fun walk anyway.
Oh yes---if some guy with a baby monkey comes up and offers to let you pet it --don't do it unless you want to get hit up for $20 for taking pictures with the monkey --after you are finished.
The golf course is a couple of minutes ride away but we did not play it so I can't comment on it.
This was one of those memorable trips that we want to repeat again in the near future.

Room Tip: Our room faced inland-West so in the morning we were able to sit on the balcony in the shade while w...

Visited this resort 7/24 -8/2 /14. We are Marriott timeshare owners in Hawaii, and this year decided to make our first visit to the carribean to stay at this resort in St Kitts and are glad we did. This resort is both a hotel and timeshare amenities open to all. It has 5 restaurants, several pools one with a swim up bar, a casino, ocean view golf course and sits along side an incredible beach front. This is the perfect place to catch up on some R & R and do nothing if you choose. After relaxing on the beach we took walks in the ankle deep warm waters for miles each day. Everyone who works here gives you outstanding customer service, from the bell boy to the front office staff, to the tec staff. Using our rewards points we arrived a day early and stayed in the hotel, before our 8 day stay in the timeshare. Hotel experience was very nice with views of the main pool and distant ocean. We were told that our timeshare location would be steps from the beach but on the first floor, which we were disappointed to hear. When we requested to be moved to a higher floor we were accommodated with a move to the 2nd floor on the 2nd day. The ocean was 20 yards away giving us incredible views. Rooms were very spacious 1400 sf. Had a little problem with maintaining a wifi connection but received outstanding service from the tech staff to correct the problem. Good variety of restaurants on the premises but expensive, try beachfront restaurants on the strip to get island feel, Shicketty Shack great for lobster. Early on we met a local tour guide "Mr. Sunshine" who took us on some incredible excursions around the island and accompanied us to the nearby island of Nevis, introduced us to some great restaurants, and taught us his interesting culture. He was patient and very personable. His prices were much more reasonable then the hotel sponsored tours. You can find him on the internet at stkittscaptainsunshine.com. Overall a wonderful relaxing experience, will return someday.

Room Tip: Beachfront above 1st floor

It was our first trip to St. Kitts and we really enjoyed the resort (stayed for our anniversary). Staff were friendly and helpful (although a few did appear as if they would rather be getting a root canal than working). But people who pay off-season prices shouldn't complain about off-season service. Clean beach with shaded canopies. Golf course is a must for those who like to play. Challenging and in great shape with reasonable resort greens fees. Casino was not crowded at all-- wait staff were constantly bringing complimentary drinks which was nice. St. Kitts is a quiet island with minimal development on it; this resort is definitely the center of activity on the island. Didn't have that great of an experience at the italian restaurant; heard good things about Blu but didn't make it there. Doormen, bellhops, concierge, and desk staff were all extremely welcoming. Hotel room was spacious. Having access to on-demand movies in the room would make a nice addition. Not sure if we will make it back to St. Kitts, but if we do we will definitely stay here again.

Our family has been to the St. Kitt's Marriot four times. We appreciate the clean resort. The villa's are quite spacious. Staff and service is always top notch. We enjoy the quite of the two side pools, at the same time appreciate the party at the big pool. Marriott offers many activities to keep our family happy. We prefer St. Kitt's to other over-crowded, Americanized Carribean islands. The slower pace and true Caribbean culture is still maintained. We enjoy the local restaurants that serve jerk chicken with island vegetables right on the beach. If you want high rises, with American sports bars and cheeseburgers, go elsewhere. A day trip to Nevis is a great option for more island adventures.

We recently visited The Marriott Resort and Casino in St. Kitts for the first time. The resort was phenomenal. The staff there was very helpful anytime you needed it. The grounds were very clean. And the restuants in the resort were second to none. I would send everyone there that was visiting St. Kitts. This was a 4 star resort in my opinion. The only thing I would change would be having wi-fi in the rooms. It is available, but for an extra cost. I can see their reasoning behind it though. The free wi-fi is available in the lobby, which is a good idea because then you can order drinks while you are using the computer. Pam, who is in charge of all your tours you plan to take is very good at her job. Very friendly.

Room Tip: I really don't think there is a bad selection.

Nice enough hotel with big, bright, airy rooms with resort views. The hotel as a whole feels a bit worn around the edges and old-school, but staff were very friendly, housekeeping was great, and the spacious rooms made for a happy place to spend time.

One big con was that the WiFi was really dodgy which made keeping up with work very challenging during our stay. However, we would likely stay again in future.

Room Tip: Some rooms get better WiFi than others. If it won't work in your room, request another one right...

We've stayed here 6 times so we've watched it over the years. They've done a lot of work outside with a new bar and improved cafe area near the pool. It looks like the cabanas and loungers on the beach were upgraded too.
However, the main gym is closed for restoration and they didn't tell us beforehand. We work out every day.
The room service always runs out of a lot of stuff, particularly ice cream for some reason. The games room has closed and never reopened. The Duty Free store is a rip-off with many of the liquor prices more than I can pay in New York.
The seafood restaurant near the beach looks shabby and uninviting, try cleaning the windows and repairing the entrance awning.

The Calypso Cafe is good, overall the staff are always friendly, if a little disorganized at times and we still like the place and will backs having said that, a Hyatt is opening in 2015 and they will have big brand competition for the first time so they will need to sharpen their act up or lose the higher end clientele.

Good Day Sidecarup

Thank you so much for your feedback, and thank you for being a frequent visitor to our resort. After 6 years am sure it is now beginning to feel like you are returning home and visiting old friends.

Yes you are correct; we have done some work around the property and are continuing to do so. Guests can now enjoy the extended deck of the Bohemia Beach Bar plus our new Exec Chef has added some new and delectable items to the menu. Our large gym is indeed undergoing a complete upgrade and will be opened by Monday 11 August. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience however our smaller gym is currently open with 24 hour access to all guests.
Unfortunately even though we have a wonderful variety of duty free shops on property they are not owned by the resort.
Sorry that you were not able to enjoy the wonderful view from the Blu Seafood Restaurant, being so close to the beach you are afforded a wonderful panoramic view of the ocean as you enjoy your dinner. Unfortunately the constant sea blast does sometimes cause the windows to fog; however we do conduct daily cleanings so that you can enjoy that wonderful view when dining. As to the awning it sometimes gets a beating from the sea blast as well as the constant trade winds.

I am glad that you enjoyed the Café which has undergone quite a transformation as well; did you try out any of the new pastries there? They are baked fresh every day right in our own bakery right here on property. Thanks for the comments about the friendliness of our staff as that is something that the island is very much known for. We welcome all new developments to the island as it is a benefit to the people and the entire Federation of St Kitts/Nevis.

We are glad that you continue to come back to our island and property and we look forward to your next visit where we can showcase our improvements on your next visit.
