We were looking for somewhere to stay that was not too far from Bristol/Weston but well out in the country so via Trip Advisor and dare I say Booking.com we found this place.

Previous reviewers seemed to have got it spot on so we were not really surprised by anything. This is a lovely old house with plenty of parking. We were welcomed warmly by Penny and shown to a very nice large room with pristine bathroom. We arrived too late to eat in the Greenwood so at Penny's suggestion turned right up the road and in about 100 yards came to the Orchard pub.

Got a great welcome from the landlord (Must be a West Huntspill thing) and although they were really busy ordered and ate two very nice steaks. This is a really friendly pub so we very much enjoyed our evening.

Breakfast was superb (we knew it would be from previous reviews) Although Penny had been up most of the night on a domestic issue she still found the time to be pleasant to all the guests

Not sure we will be in this area again for a while but would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: We asked for a slightly large room which I think was a bit more expensive but well worth it

Had a fab but brief stay at the Greenwood. After travelling three hours from Liverpool i was welcomed by a lovely shower in a very nice room.

The room was described as small on the website but was a lovely size and cosy for a rainy evening.

The breakfast menu was extensive and definitely catered for a lot of tastes, it was also cooked beautifully and Penny uses all locally sourced produce.

would recommend The Greenwood to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

10/10

We (boyfriend, daughter and 2 doggies) arrived on Sunday afternoon and were greeted by one of Penny's very handsome dogs. We had booked a family room and were not disappointed. It had a double bed and 2 singles with a great en-suite shower room and plenty of room to move. Our room over-looked the front garden, where Penny served afternoon tea during the summer.
The house is gorgeous and Penny uses the space well as she also caters for meetings etc. Breakfast is served until 0930 on a bank holiday, which is a nice treat and we had a marvellous feed. Briony ordered pancakes and maple syrup, which she reported were 'amazing' and my boyfriend and I had a full English.
The ingredients are locally sourced, which makes such a difference and I can honestly say it was one of the best breakfasts I've had at a B&B. It was piping hot and made fresh for me as we did shifts so that the doggies weren't left on their own. Despite it being such a busy service (all tables full) I wasn't rushed eating my breakfast in an empty dining room whilst Penny cleared up and we had a lovely chat about our love of dogs. I sampled some of the home-made raspberry jam, which was just as delicious as the breakfast and would recommend this B&B with no hesitation.
We paid £100 for a family for 3 us and doggies stay free. Perfect!
