We stayed at The Greenwood en route to our holiday in Cornwall. We were not disappointed & couldn't have been happier. Mine host Penny is charming & very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Would we stay again, absolutely. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area then this is the place. It's just a shame that the weather wasn't that good because we would have loved to sit in the beautiful gardens.

Stayed at The Greenwood for one night as our daughter was playing in a netball tournament close by. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Penny, the owner was friendly, welcoming and always around to help with anything you needed. The breakfast was of a very good quality and exactly what we needed to start us up for the day. The Greenwood is a pretty property and ideally located to explore Somerset.

We stayed here on the recommendation of our son and his family. What an amazing place, Penny is a wonderful hostess and when my husband became ill, she managed to sort out an extra night for us at very short notice. Thank you Penny and your breakfasts - in the words of our grandson - were amazing! We will we back

We stayed at the Greenwood for the 3rd time for 2 nights in May.I have reviewed our previous visits, and we booked again because we knew what to expect, and were not disappointed. We had room 5 again which overlooks the front garden,it has a good-size walk-in shower,so refreshing that we have had to install a similar one since we've returned home! There is a nice lounge where guests can relax, with books and magazines, and,of course, delicious home-cooked breakfasts. This time Penny's local knowledge proved invaluable advising on trips to Hestercombe Gardens, and Wesonbirt Arboretum. No doubt we will soon be re-visiting the excellent,award-winning Greenwood.

stopped here for lunch only with a group on a day outing.the meal was booked for 1 pm but we were not served til 2 o clock-while we were waiting we had to sit at the tables as there was no lounge or bar area.they only had 1 bottle of rose wine. i had ordered chicken casserole which was small pieces of chicken in a pale watery tasteless "sauce"-my idea of a casserole is meat and vegetables in an almost gravy like sauce. the separately served veg. were very ordinary-boiled potatoes, boiled carrots and boiled cabbage even salt and pepper could not improve this course.on the plus side the place was very clean, newly decorated andnicely furnished, the staff were very pleasant and the raspberry cheesecake dessert delicious.there were lovely grounds but the weather was too bad to spend time outside.

We made a very last minute booking (early hours of Saturday morning for that night!). We wanted a comfortable family room in a nice B&B and we couldn't have picked better. We found it through booking.com. An extra bonus was that there was an offer of 20% off one night stays.

We arrived about 5pm to a lovely welcome by Penny. Our room was on the ground floor with private bathroom. Our children were very excited about stopping in a "hotel". The room had a double and two singles. Nicely furnished and the tray facilities were excellent. Bathrobes were provided should we require them.

Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, our sons still have warm milk before they go to bed and Penny happily warmed this up for us. I never sleep well in a strange bed but I did here!

Breakfast was fabulous. A variety of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and juices to help yourself to and a great selection of food to chose from for a cooked breakfast (locally sourced where possible).

Can't fault the service, room nor food. I think you would struggle to find better in the area. Many thanks Penny.

Room Tip: The family room is an excellent size and very comfortable

We use The Greenwood on a stop off point on our journey from Kent to Cornwall at least once a year. We have 2 small children and usually arrive a little late in the evening - yet the welcome is very warm. The breakfast is magnificent and it is remote enough as to not need to unpack all the car. Throughly recommended.
