We stayed here over the New Year. The room was large and well equipped. The Staff are very friendly and the breakfasts large and well cooked with plenty of choice. Food in the bar is also good and not over expensive. Special thanks to the cleaner Gail who keeps everything spotless and is very helpful. We expected it to be very noisy on New Years Eve but it was ok yet the bar was full and live music. Any way we recommend this pub for a relaxing break and would go back again when in the area.

Room Tip: Room 1 and 2 are ground floor and 2 is disabled friendly

This is a lovely place to stay and was a fantastic stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome for our stay. The room was extremely comfy and spacious with lovely bedroom and bathroom and under floor heating. The rooms had been decorated with thought and care to a very high standard and with everything you could need in them. We had 2 meals in the pub below in the evening and it seemed very popular place with very tasty meals. Nothing was too much trouble and even with the pub downstairs was a very restful and peaceful place to stay. We were both very impressed and our whole visit was faultless. I would definitely come again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay here.

my son and i decided to try a different venue this year,so we booked a twin room in the crossways inn at west huntspill highbridge,we stayed for 2 nights and booked online,we were pleasantly surprised to be charged £80.00,(£20 per person per night including breakfast)the breakfast was superb, help yourself to cereal, juice, yoghurt,a great selection, then the main event which consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread,or a combination of all, there was also fish,or continental.the fishing ponds were about half a mile from the pub and were called emerald lakes,(there is a good website for this venue)the charge is £7.00 per day dawn to dusk,we had some amazing carp (well my son did)from 2lb to 14lb,i had some nice skimmer bream,we fished with floating boilies, bread, and maggots but apparently they like prawns, there are toilets on the lakes, also you can rent chalets dotted around.the pub is very convienient for brean, and burnham on sea, bridgewater is just down the road, now back to the pub and the room,we had a double walk in shower, and the beds were very comfy, plenty of different teas and coffees cream and milk, and lots of smellies in the bathroom,we even had a slim 32" tv on the wall, all in all the room was excellent,(well it is 4****.now down to evening meal a bit pricey but good hearty food, and a great choice of real ales and ciders.if you fancy a walk of an evening just up the road is another pub (2 for 1)pub grub.anyway we would highly recommend this inn,(it must be good i have since stayed again and the same service was offered.9 out of 10 ****.

The Crossways Inn 29th October 2013
I found this place by looking on Google Earth and was not disappointed. My wife and I were looking for a B&B near Highbridge (Somerset) we booked on line through their web-site and paid using Pay-Pal but other card facilities were available.
When we got there, we had a very warm & friendly welcome and was shown to our room without fuss, the room was nice a warm with I think under-floor heating. The En-suite shower room/toilet was very modern with a great powerful and hot shower, all the little extras were there for you if required. The main room had a large double bed plenty of wardrobe space, in the wardrobe was an ironing board and iron, on the wall a nice size TV, and also the usual coffee & tea making tray. Free WiFi in the rooms and also in the bars.
We didn’t eat that evening at the Crossways as we had other plans, but on our return others were eating and the food looked great, however, we did have the Breakfast and that was excellent, from cereals, juices and a full breakfast menu, we mixed and matched and was catered for without problem. The other couple we spoke to over breakfast were also very pleased with their stay and food, and was using the Crossways as an overnight stay before flying out of Bristol airport to Spain! So a good all round place to stay and not far from a lot of the local attractions.

Room Tip: We were in a room right by the entrance door and although people were coming and going we weren'...

Located about 15 minutes from Jct 22 on M5 and ideally placed for touring Exmoor, Wells, Glastonbury etc. It is a 17th century Inn with large car park opposite.
We stayed for three nights and were impressed with the friendliness of the locals and staff, the quality of the food and the excellent standard of accomodation. In addition the rates charged meant it was all very good value as well.
Accomodation is offered as B & B only but as stated at a very good price. We stayed in room 6 which is at the front over the skittle alley. I believe all the rooms have been refurbished to the same high standard which included, King size bed, wooden flooring, fully fitted bathroom with walk in shower, room safe, attractive decor and ipod docking station plus large HD TV. Wi Fi was also provided for free.
Breakfast is served in a dining room at the side of the Inn and includes cereals, fruit juices as well as a choice of about six different breakfasts. We had to wait a little while but all the meals appear to be cooked to order and it was worth waiting for. Same for lunch and dinner these are available in the pub and you can reserve a table if necessary. We tried basic pub food but were impressed with portion size and quality of food. This included Fish & Chips, Local ham egg and chunky chips, Cottage pie and Spag Bol. If you have the cheese board one is adequate for three people. All meals were again reasonably priced.
Two very minor niggles. The sink in the bathroom was too small to be practical and if people continued to play skittles after the 11pm deadline it was very difficult to sleep due to the noise.
Overall however we were very impressed with the staff friendliness and excellent service provided at the Inn and will definitely be returning at some stage.

Room Tip: Front rooms get slightly more noise when pub turns out.

Took a chance on somewhere we have never stayed and so pleased we did. Friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautifully decorated with modern furnishings, large comfortable bed, good sized tv with freeview and HD, lovely bathroom with great shower.
Very well paced to travel all over the somerset area.

The weather had turned mild the weekend we were there and our room was quite warm, but a word to the staff after breakfast and it was adjusted for us by the housekeeper on ouor return later in the day.

The room (7) faced the A38 but this did not cause us many problems even with the window open. ( There are rooms facing away from the A38 as well).

Tasty pub food, which wasn’t overpriced (breakfast was actually included in the amazing price of £40 a night when we stayed).

We have stayed in many places over the south west and this was one of the best – definitely lives up to its AA 4 star rating and would definitely return if in the area again.

We stayed at this lovely inn for one night en route to Cornwall. For the price of £49.00, I expected a standard ,run of the mill room but to our delight the room we had was a spacious, boutique style room with a huge comfortable bed, finished with lovely accessories and curtains to match. The bathroom was as good a standard as some 5 star hotels we have stayed with an amazing power shower and lovely toiletries. There was a nice clock radio which could also be used as an Ipod /I phone charger and docking station. The owner was so friendly and casual( but very professional!) and made us very welcome. We arrived too late to eat there, but the owner said if we wanted to go and get take away food he would be happy to provide us with plates and cutlery!! We booked with LateRooms.Com and was given the rate of £49.00 room only. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning with plenty of choice on the menu including Eggs Benedict and Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs. As we thought it was room only rate, we asked for the bill to pay and was happily told that it was included in the rate-what a bonus!! We would definitely highly recommend this upmarket B&B and will stay there again when we are in the area.
