Have stayed on 2 separate occasions now to break up the long drive from Yorkshire to SW France, and the return trip. On the first occasion, we were disappointed with the service in the restaurant - had to literally berate the waitress who was extremely rude - BUT Madame who runs the hotel is wonderful, extremely hospitable and very kind. The hotel is quirky; an old hunting manor and beautifully decorated throughout with extensive grounds and a swimming pool. The restaurant is very good, our evening meals have been of a good standard and the breakfasts are plentiful and varied. We have always stayed in the same double room - which is large with a view of the gardens, good bathroom and comfortable bed. We have booked to stay again in July this year and I know we won't be disappointed with the welcome, standard of service, and comfort of the room.

This property is lovely and in a very tranquil setting. Bedrooms are large and in a shabby chic style. Still very old fashioned, no duvets only blankets and we were very surprised that the towels were on their last legs.
It is not cheap to stay here by any means.
The food is very good, we had an all inclusive package for 252 euros, which included evening meal and breakfast. Be very careful on breakfast as an egg is an extra 2 euros and an ommelette is an extra 4 euros.
The biggest let down here is there is no atmosphere or ambience in the place, it is just flat. Everyone seems to whisper - even the staff.
We enjoyed our stay, but it was 'unusual' and very serious (waiting staff need to smile a little more!) They could do with a bar area as guests seem to wonder around as there is only a very formal lounge to sit in which is not very inviting.
All in all would we return, unfortunately it would be a no, there are many more nicer and welcoming places to stay.

We spent 3 nights here as part of our Golden Wedding celebrations. An elegant hotel, well situated for visiting Giverny and the Normandy countryside. Although lacking atmosphere, owing to very few guests during our stay, we were well-looked after by the owner who was able to recommend places of interest in the localty as well as providing maps for walking in the woods and parkland surrounding the chateau.
We had a large and well-appointed bedroom overlooking the substantial garden. Absolute peace and quiet! The restaurant fulfilled our expectations in every respect. A dining room full of character with excellent service and truly superb food. It made a pleasant change to have our breakfast served rather than the normal buffet-style.

We chose this hotel as it was only a few miles off our route as a bit of luxury at the end of a busy camping holiday. We didn't arrive until late and were met by the charming hostess. Ten minutes later we were having dinner in the restaurant. We went for the €32 set menu and the food was outstanding. I can highly recommend the haddock mousse and the Marquise au chocolat. The main course of Suprême de poulet was also superb. The house wine was also of excellent standard and highly drinkable, I had to exercise some constraint!

The room was clean and attractively decorated with a nice comfy bed. In fact we both slept remarkably well probably thanks in part to the peaceful rural setting.

We also opted for the breakfast and had a lovely selection of cheeses with pastries.

The hotel is full of character, if you want mod cons and glitzy bathroom fittings, then this may not be the hotel for you. But we loved it. The restaurant staff were also very helpful and professional without being pretentious.

We will be back next year without a doubt and will hopefully get there a bit earlier so we can enjoy the hotel amenities and gardens.

When we arrived the place seemed quite austere but that impression was soon dispelled by the welcome we received. All the facilities were made available to us and even though the swimming pool covers were on they were swiftly removed just for me. How kind! Drinks are served in one of the salons (soft/alcoholic) and dinner in the main dining room. It feels quite formal but it's only as formal as you wish it to be and that's certainly not the making of the proprietors but rather some of the clientele. What I mean by this is that some of the older generation like things to be both formal and quiet but I prefer to be more relaxed and chat to people over dinner. Either way is fine with the owners they just adjust themselves to suit.

We stayed at this Chateau as part of a touring holiday due to it's reasonable proximity to Monet's garden at Giverny . The Owner could not have been more obliging and our typical French Chateau room was excellent with a quiet view over the garden . All the staff provided very good service and the food and ambiance in the restaurant were very good indeed . There was a lounge for pre dinner drinks and we enjoyed our stay at this friendly Chateau .

We found this beautiful Chateau by chance after a long drive and at the end of our touring holiday in France. The hostess was extremely helpful and friendly on arrival and we enjoyed our cold beers overlooking the grounds with homemade hors d'oeuvres. The room was lovely with garden views and suited the chateau's ambience. Dinner was excellent and not over expensive. An experience to savour -we will return.
