We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 5 week trip around France. What a gorgeous establishment. Edell and John have created a wonderful, inviting and comfortable ambience in their 600+ year old home in the bastide of Monpazier. The room was quiet, warm and comfortable. The private bathroom was spotlessly clean and functional. Breakfasts were more than we expected and the addition of cereal was most welcome after a couple of weeks of French breakfasts. John will cook eggs to order and the range of breads, preserves and yoghurts was amazing. John was full of local knowledge for where to enjoy a scenic drive or a chateau. There's also an amazing aqueduct just outside the town which we chanced upon in our drives. It was also a nice break to be able to speak English with our hosts - we are from Australia and have only "school" French and in many of the places we had stayed up until now, French was spoken exclusively. John and Edell have a repetoire of interesting stories to tell and we enjoyed their company each morning. I would highly recommend this B & b to anyone travelling in the area.
