We have stayed here four times over the last 10 years so we obviously know both the hotel and the region well. The hotel is a little deceptive as it looks as if it is an small 18c chateau whilst it really was built in the early 1900's. The present Dutch owners have been there about 7 years and have updated the bathrooms etc to provide a delightful stopping off place with a variety of rooms and small suites. The hotel is situated on the edge of the town and 5 mins will see you in the square. There is a good pool and plenty of space with loungers and parasols to spend your time round the pool which is both sheltered and private.

The staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The staff do change each year so I guess it is difficult to maintain consistency sometimes.

We did not eat in the hotel each night but went to a Bstrot one night which is owned by the Hotel on the north side of the town, about 10 mins walk away. The bistrot is open all year.We were as little disappointed in the food as our memory was of somewhat better
quality.

However the food in the Hotel is difficult to fault. Whilst there is not a large choice the menue is sufficiently balanced to provide an very enjoyable experience.

As you can read we enjoyed our stay and it was good to revisit Monpazier again

Sometimes the staff seemed a little unsmiling, but this place is definitely a little eccentric. As a chef myself, i really rate the food. It was original and delicious. Yes the bedroom was a bit small and rather stuffy but all in all it was fine.

Nice pool as well and a pretty place too.

Just spent a well needed break here. Very high standards, well kept throughout. Beautiful pool and unbeatable location. Views from back rooms breathtaking. Highly recommend it. Carolyn, Tom and Lara McCormack(age 10) and Grandma Chris. Kingston (Greater London) ,Surrey.

We stayed here as part of a cycling trip, and were very pleased that we did. The hotel was excellent -- the rooms were well decorated, clean and well maintained, with all the amenities. The pool was nice and the location very good (although as the town is tiny any place would be good). The hosts were wonderful -- extremely friendly and helpful and the service first rate. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed so we went to their smaller, less formal bistro, and we'd highly recommend it. The food was good and imaginative and slightly lighter than the norm in this region of France. A super stay.
