This was our 5th visit to Achaleven Byre - as usual everything was clean and tidy and Beata was her usual accommodating self. We hired bikes and were able to store them in the shed. Liked the cockerels from the next door farm. We would thoroughly recommend the self-catering byre. Roll on our next visit. It is a very convenient location for walkers and cyclists as well as being close to Oban.

This cottage is just a great wee place for a getaway from the stressful everyday life.

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the owner and when we opened the door we discovered a bright, well decorated good size cottage with a large double door into a private garden.

The place was sparkling clean and all appliances, bathroom, towels, mattress and furniture were of great quality and very new.

We sat in the garden for hours to enjoy a glass of wine watching the rabbits come close and the goats walk on a rock that was just a few meters away. It was just a very idyllic scenery and very calm.

There was great attention to detail and we even found our towels folded up on the bed with a welcome chocolate on top...like in a Marriott Hotel.

As well there was not only tea and coffee but as well a large selection of cereals and a fresh jar of milk in the fridge.

The owner was very nice and she offered support for anything we would have wanted.

If you are looking for a quiet, nice, well decorated place close to the Lochs and Oban this place is not to be missed.

5 stars throughout as we enjoyed our stay very much!

Thanks, T&C

Had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 5 days on our first trip to Scotland. The accommodations were superb; clean, quiet, comfortable, roomy but cozy. The view is fantastic and the garden lovely. A short drive will take you into beautiful Oban. Really hated to leave but looking forward to going back.

What a lovely place to stay, accommodation was fantastic !!! Walked in to the lovely smell of fresh linen :-) It has everything you could look for, comfy sofa, comfy bed all mod cons in the kitchen, good sized TV, internet access and FANTASTIC shower. Garden is lovely too. Will definitely go back.

Booked a 3 night stay at Achaleven Byre as our first stop-over for our Scotish touring holiday in May 2013 based solely on its location (near Oban) and TripAdvisor ratings.
To say we weren't disappointed would be an understatement. It was a home from home with far more facilities than we have experienced in self-catering accommodation.
Beata made us very welcome and had supplied virtually all our breakfast needs with milk, cereals, porridge and all the cleaning and toiletries as well!.
The weather was disappointing but the cottage was warm and cosy as was the hospitality.
If we decide to return to Scotland then this would be a must place to stay again.
