just returned back from four nights touring scotland on our motorcycles ,this was our first nights stay, (20 middle aged men) it as fantastic, the staff were so friendly, the food was to die for, we really got well looked after, nothing was a problem ,i would highly recommend this hotel , the owners made you feel welcome as soon as we arrived, if were ever in the Oban region again we would definatley stay at the FALLS OF LORA

Room Tip: all tho the small cabin rooms were small, they were big enough for a single

A stunning location for a hotel, but this hotel failed to shine for me. On what is a lovely old building from the outside, it is stuck in a timewarp inside! Most of the wall paper is peeling off of the walls. and the hotel has a damp musty smell to it.
It was clean tho, but a bit of TLC and some fresh paint wouldn't go a miss. The general theme was centered around what a 80 year old lady would have on display in her living room, ie. china and ramdom other clutter thats been collected over the years.
The evening meal was a let down, basic pub food not cooked very well.
The bedrooms were comfatable but felt cramped, lightened up by a tv from the year 2010! (The most modern feature in this hotel)
There was no shower in my bedroom, just a very cramped bath and toilet. so a trip to the first floor to use a dirty shower was the option, as a bath would have taken an age to run.
The breakfast was pleasant in the morning, with a lovely old lady plucked straight out of 1950 complete with uniform providing a great service.
In all it was an ok stay, in a fantastic location. this has a great potential to be a quality hotel.

This is a good value family run hotel over looking the turbulent tidal waters near Connel Bridge ( sometimes still called "Connel Ferry"). Most of the bedrooms are of modest size in a modern extenstion, but some larger ones are available on request Service is efficient, but informal, equally suitable for families and business use. The evening menu is varied, with very reasonably priced wine, available by the glass.Just a few metres from the railway station----last stop before Oban. There is a pleasant garden acrss the main road. A good stop for people going on to use the many ferries from Oban to Mull and the Western Isles. Also for those going North along the Coast road to Glen Coe and Fort William.

Room Tip: Ask for room to the front for the view, unless you are very sensitive to the slight road traffic noi...

We have been here loads of times in the last 25 years but i reckon this was the last .Overpriced room ripped sheets and unattentive staff in the bistro . I heard an elderly lady ask for another glass of wine from 15 feet away yet 15 minues later she had to ask again for the young guy to oblige. As for the food ,it used to be great now its just okay . Its a great area and has great memories for us but i reckon we will just head to Oban next time

This hotel has bags of character & fantastic staff. Breakfast was good & staff were very attentive to our children who were treated to hot chocolate. Our room was clean (double bed & bunk beds) and our children loved the soft bears waiting on their beds! However room and en-suite (bath only) are in need of an update. This combined with lumpy mattresses and insufficient water pressure to run a bath sadly mean we won't be back.

Got rooms at this hotel last minute & what a fantastic deal we got !! Rooms were spotless as was whole of hotel. Travelled with family & we all agreed. Could NOT fault any part of hotel, rooms, staff & food were all of a high standard. Only 5 mins from Oban & its on the waterfront ! Loved the hotel & we will definately be back. We had the four poster & big round bath (room 43)

Room Tip: Pay a wee bit extra & get one of the "deluxe" rooms
