Beautiful hotel!! Would definately reccommend this place to anyone considering a trip to Yala. The staff were super friendly and efficient and the food in the Bar area was great. The first room we checked in to was a double chalet, which backed onto a family with 3 young excited children. As we were on our Honeymoon we wanted somewhere a little more private and quiet. We mentioned it to the Manager and within 30 minutes he had moved us to the private Beach Chalet which was just gorgeous! The food in the restaurant was average, although the Hotel try and cater for all nations so that everyone gets a choice, as they get very busy. I wouldn't recommend the Night Safari to anyone. It is only the hotel who run the night safaris and you are only allowed to travel around the hotel complex. You are not allowed inside the National Park in the evenings. The guys running the night safari tours were extremely unorganised making for an all round unsatisfactory experience. Luckily we already had 3 official Safari tours booked in anyway - which were all fantastic. We even spotted a Leopard, which is very rare!

The hotel is everything it is advertised to be - jungle living paired with luxury and comfort. The hotel is literally in the middle of a jungle, with wild boar, monitor lizards and monkeys wandering around, and apparently, elephants (although we were fortunate enough not to have an encounter with one in the hotel grounds itself!). The rooms are extremely comfortable, although the lighting could be improved. We had a beach chalet which is on stilts and facing the sea. The buffets and a la carte options were varied and interesting. The staff varied - some of the staff, particularly the ones at reception and the chefs were extremely helpful and accommodating of all our needs. Some of the restaurant staff were just a bit sullen.

Safaris were organized well by the hotel. The problem is that Yala does not always guarantee sightings of the big cats, elephants etc. We spent a good four hours on a morning safari when all we saw were about a dozen different birds, water buffalo and a dead deer. Not very interesting! As a national park, it is not good value for money.

The beach is quite beautiful with its copper colored sand (in places) and large rocks. It is rocky in places. Also, has thorny roots running through the sand. It's a jungle beach! Take care walking around barefoot on this beach!

Room Tip: Beach chalets are the best, but they do require going up a fairly tall staircase - not so good if yo...

We had a wonderful time at cinnamon wild yala. Even driving in is a treat as you start to see wild buffalo, wild pigs and crocodiles and that's just the journey in.

Upon arrival we were greeted with refreshing cinnamon scented towels and a welcome drink along with the safety wildlife rules, we were taken then straight to our room and the luggage followed immediately afterwards.

The room (jungle chalet) was styled on a safari lodge but had all the mod cons including fully stocked mini bar, complementary water, hair dryer etc. lovely powerful hot showers. There is a mosquito net over the bed for night times which we dropped before going out and had no problems. The rooms have a nice terrace for wildlife spotting. Within the first hour of being in the room we left to go on the safari and a male elephant wandered past our room on the way to the watering hole (a very special moment). On the morning safari we left the room and there was a sambar deer under our lodge. The lagoon behind the pool houses a number of beautiful birds, crocs, wild boar and pigs. This is really wildlife at your fingertips... Loved it.

We organised the safaris through the hotel which isn't the cheapest option but appeared to be the easiest as they leave from the resort (around £90 for two people not bad compared to Africa..). It's an amazing experience and you see elephants, deer, mongoose, wild buffalo, crocs and lots of beautiful birds including the green bee eater. We did two days of safari. Day one on the pm safari (3pm) we saw lots of elephants including babies. Day two am safari we saw the elusive leopard and a sloth bear... Amazing experience. If anything could do with some more control regarding the number of jeeps which enter the park as when there is a leopard the vehicles are on mass... The animals seem unbothered but still can't be good.

The hotel itself is very relaxing loved that wildlife is on your doorstop (you need a staff member to escort you to your room after dark and before light). Staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was nice (we ate in the bar which serves a la carte whereas the restaurant is buffet. Good varied breakfast to fill up on for the day. The pool guy was very attentive and also told us when an elephant was coming to drink from the lagoon. We went up to the roof top bar for sunset both nights which was magical and relaxing watching the lagoon, animals and the waves behind..

You really are in the wilds here and I could not recommend it enough, having stayed here would not stay anywhere else when visiting yala. Thank you

We appreciate you taking your time to give your feedback following your stay at Cinnamon Wild Yala. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our chalets are constructed very similar to the game lodges in Africa where you have a wonderful view of the beach and as well as the jungle to give you a feeling of living in the WILD! As our hotel is situated in the buffer zone this particular aspect brings an experience of wildlife passing by throughout the day within the hotel premises. Our yala national park has a wide range of animals and birds for you to enjoy and have a first hand in experience of seen the prince of cats in a very small country such as srilanka. it is also assumed that the park is host to one of the most highest densities of leopards in the world. While thanking you for your kind feedback we eagerly look forward to welcoming you back at our resort for yet another memorable stay.

Stayed in a jungle chalet, which was large and had all the necessary amenities - cleanliness and maintenance good. Surrounded by local wild life (on our first night walking to the main building encountered a herd of wild boar). Crocodiles, water buffalo, peacocks/hens, etc. in the lake by the hotel. Pool and restaurant have great views of the park (above the restaurant is an observation bar). Food and drink great. Service overall very good, although the welcome (and leaving) lacked consistency. We did morning and afternoon jeep safaris - both brilliant experiences - managed to see 2 leopards and the sloth bear as well as a bull elephant, female elephants and a baby elephant amongst other many animals. Definitely a worthwhile experience that would highly recommend.

Was staying at this hotel to visit the yala safari. We booked the safari tour from the tour desk inside the hotel. and for all good reasons we managed to see a Leopold twice and had a great view and was completely satisfied with the tour arrangement. Rooms were clean and neat, situated in the safari premises itself and had the total feeling of being in wild while enjoying the relaxation. Food was average, i'm not sure if it was that day, however i'm not happy about the dinner and the lunch, I felt it is something to do with the coordination of items the menu. Have no complains about the breakfast.

May be since the rooms are jungle chalets, room amenities were very basic. however I liked the location of the room I stayed in, which was at very edge of the premises. Pool was good. and while we were at the pool there was a sri lankan sambar deer walked into the premises and it was a great encounter to have a closer look at it. Must mention that the restaurant had a good wine selection and the service from the staff was good.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the edge of the premises, in order to get the jungle/camping feeling.

We travelled as a couple and had a fantastic experience. Stayed in a Beachside Villa for two nights. We watched monkeys, numerous birds, squirrels, wild boar and deer from our balcony while sipping wine! A wild elephant wandered through the pool area as we relaxed on sun lounges. The staff are efficient and very friendly. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The restaurant food (especially a la carte menu) was excellent.

Room Tip: Beachside villas have an upstairs balcony from which the beach and wildlife can be viewed. They are...

We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and our warm hospitality. And we thank you for your feedback following your stay with us. Because our hotel is located in the buffer zone and it's only 15 minutes away from the national park hence wildlife roams free in and around the premises. Also our rooftop bar gives a great atmosphere along with a great 360D view of around the hotel as well. While thanking you again for your kind feedback we eagerly look forward to having you with us again.

My partner and I selected this hotel for its closeness to the Park. In that regard, it was a good choice. There were some problems: If you pre-pay your evening meal, and want to do the night safari, it is virtually impossible as the meal starts when the safari leaves. We paid for a 'snack' at the bar instead. The night safari was a little disappointing but we realise that you can't always depend on nature!. If you are doing a day safari, we suggest doing the full day one. This allows you to stop for longer if animals are there, such as the elephant family having their drink and mud bath at a waterhole. Even though the rains were late, there are some waterholes which have water pumped to them, so there is lots to see. The hotel provided packed lunches for the full day safari which were fine.
Rooms were clean and out of the window you could see monkeys and pigs throughout the day. We had no trouble getting the guide to come and pick us up after dark and always felt safe.

Room Tip: All rooms were similar
