“Club maritim hotel”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

A group of us ladies went to the hotel at the end of may, we were very worried after reading reviews on the hotel. We all said the same the reveiws were not warranted , the hotel was very clean the staff were nice the rooms were really big .the beds were comfy . The food was good .we had a really good break. The only thing you could criticise was the hotel was old fashioned, but it's what it says in the star rating and this was reflected in the price .over all a really good four day break. I don't usually write reviews but thought it best to share our experience with Club Maritim. I was very scared about going there as had booked before reading reviews but here goes.

We arrived late at night - the check in dude was very friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean when we arrived - some noise from the other guests but its expected considering the location and price. Pool was clean - ants were present (the little suckers took a liking to some gum under my shoe and gathered in force) food was average but had a good selection (wasn't stuck eating the same thing everyday). Two beaches 10 min walk from the hotel and we managed to get taxis everywhere without too much hassle.

All in all - not bad. Pretty amazing considering how much we paid. If you aren't looking for a rowdy weekend away with youngsters then don't go there - in fact don't go to San Antonio area - or even Ibiza for that matter. For the price you pay you can't expect much more than what we got. You are an idiot if you think otherwise. Don't pay for a cheap place and then complain when its not of 5 star quality. As far as stealing goes - we took our money and passports out with us - didn't order maid service and we had no problems at all.

I've just come back from a girls holiday (group of 4 18year olds) and we had a great time! We had read these bad reviews before we went so we weren't expecting much, but for what we paid the hotel was absolutely fine! Maybe for a family holiday, or for people who like a bit of luxury, this hotel wouldn't be suitable, but for young people or people who just want somewhere to sleep, eat and wash its absolutely fine.

We had no problems with break-ins and didnt hear of anyone else who did while we were there. We didn't pay for the security deposit box because they were in reception which we thought was a bit dodgy, so we kept everything hidden in our rooms. The rooms are basic but clean and lots of space. The food is basic too, but it was always nice. The staff were always helpful, we never experienced rude staff.

I would go back to this hotel! Also, people complaining about noise in the early hours of the morning? I think this is to be expected in any low-budget hotel in the San Antonio part of Ibiza!

Room Tip: Pay for air con! Its only 10euros and makes the stay much more comfortable!

Hotel maritim is a dump. It smells like pee, the food sucks, customer service is of non exisitance. We were lucky we did not have anything stolen but probably its because we always tipped the cleaning lady after she was done cleaning our room. Seriously,i would not recommend this place to anybody not even my worse enemy. We had guys that were trying to break in our room at 4:30am, they were drunk and very loud. Security did not come to help to keep the noise down. There were a lot of things that happened while staying at hotel maritim ibiza. I can actually write a book on this place. The bottom line, do not stay at this rubbish place period..

As a 20 year old student, I am not your general person who may choose to write a holiday review, but after dreading our holiday for weeks after reading terrible reviews, I feel as if it is my duty to reassure you guys!

We are two girls, both 20 from London. We came to Ibiza for a clubbing holiday- more for the nightlife that for the hotel, and having been here before, we were aware of the location before we came- for the price you pay, the location is fine.

The water taxi is two euros and is only a ten minute walk from the hotel. To get into San Antonio in a taxi the fare is 10 euros, but I would reccommend hailing one from directly outside the hotel as they don't stop along the streets as we soon found out! So there we go, the location is fine.

To be fair I would reccomend this hotel to youth rather than to families- the only reason being that is it naturally quite cheap, so does attract a young crowd. Everyone is chatty around the pool and we made friends with everyone.

About robberies- we rented a safe, left things in there all night and took them to the room with us whenever we were up there- we had no problems but I would reccommend the safe. Also saying hello to the maids everyday might have helped us! Safe was 38 euros for the week but we got 10 back as a deposit. I'm not saying people haven't had things go missing before our time but as long as you rent a safe I didn't hear anyone who'd had problems.

Air con- 10 euro deposit which is refundable- ours worked fine.

Ants- yes there are ants. Literal ants in my pants, but there's not like actual ant nests, we just left some clothes in our cases! Other than ants the rooms were spotless.

Food- was FINE. Every night they had one fish dish, one veg dish, one meat, something breaded like croquettes, pasta with sauce, chips, pizza, soup and two salad bars. You also have a good range of deserts and pots of ice cream available all day. pastries and sandwiches available during the day behind the bar, just ask!

Drinks were wicked- could get two on a time and half spirit half mixer. Also sangria, water and beer on tap and all fizzy drinks too.

Staff were fairly friendly though didn't speak masses of English- Not a problem though!

Overall I would say if you are a young group or pair looking for a cheap all inclusive deal, you can't go wrong if you rent a safe. Hope this helped you to look forward to your holiday!

P.S. Go Zoo project.

My friend and I stayed here for a week and like most people who read the reviews we were convinced we would be robbed and starve for the week cos the food is so bad! None of this is true! We hired a safe and ensured all expensive items were kept in here I.e phone and money. The food was basic but edible and there is something for everyone! It is a way away from the main strip in San Antonio but its about €2.50 euros for a water taxi or €10 for a taxi to get there! Drinks are very expensive in the main strip so take lots of spending money f u are planning on partying! Also DO NOT buy pukka up party tickets from reps Anna and Dom we got majorly ripped off! Apart from that a great hol :)

We have just got back from a 4 day break at Club Maritim, as others have mentioned my wife and I were really worried after reading reviews about theft and bad food..... However we didnt have any problems that others have mentioned. Our room was basic but clean and perfect for our needs, deffo get the air con (10 euro deposit) was nice to come back to the room nice and cool, the room was cleaned daily and the maid seemed very nice and friendly. The food was basic but great for a short break, the food menu was quite repetitive but for only 4 days there was enough choice to have something different on all days. The hotel seems to be mainly appealing to young guests so there is a bit of rowdiness around the pool but never had any issues other than people not knowing how to use the bins that are plentiful!. Drinks seemed OK too - they are served in small plastic cups but you can get 2 at a time and was available right throughout the day and evening. The staff seemed really hard working in the restaurant and could be seen whizzing around the room clearing up etc. Water taxi and beach is only a short stroll away so good location. Also Mar I Pins Bar that is just along the road was great, David & Kenny were really friendly and always made us welcome. All in all for the price we payed and for a short break this place was perfect, I would book again.... So dont be put off, just be safe and sensible - dont leave valuables in your room! We really enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to another break soon.......

Room Tip: From the pictures it seems there is different rooms to what we stayed in, we stayed in room 3007 and...
