Owner description: OPEN MONDAY - SUNDAY from 09.00 Till 17.00Hrs (last admission at 16.30Hrs). The Inquisitor's Palace, situated in the heart of Vittoriosa, is one of the very few surviving palaces of its kind which, in the early modern period could be found all over Europe and South America. Many of these palaces simply succumbed to the ravages of time or were victims of the anti-reactionary power unleashed by the French Revolution. Fortunately, the Maltese Inquisitor's Palace, throughout its five centuries of history, always hosted high-ranking officials representing the main powers on the island, who therefore ensured its survival.

“Fascinating Palace”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

More than just about torture and evil.
Very guide tour of the rooms and courtyard, with informative placques.
Signs of how successive occupiers have re-modelled the interior over the centuries.

“Could be better but still interesting to visit! ”
Reviewed 28 April 2014 via mobile

Visited the palace for curiosity but must say that it is interesting although it has some disadvantages. There is no audio guide or brochure to guide you through the palace or at least to give you a brief history. There are the numbers that lead you through the building with some information. Unfortunately when visited, part of the musuem was being reconstracted so one could hear the noises.
The most interesting part is the prison building. There are also 2 exhibitions; one of the Good friday and the other one about Christmas in Malta and around the world. Also antiques are available to discover the era of the palace.
Rated 3 stars as it should be better for an attraction that has a lot to offer.

“Interesting insight to history”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Worth the visit, take the time to look at the carvings on the walls, by the courtyard. Step inside the rooms and realise what the prisoners went through.

“One of a kind place - absolutely a must to visit”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Restoration of the Inquisitor's Palace has unveiled a true scene witnessing part of the Maltese history. Although being a very important building it still holds within it the serenity of a Mediterranean home that has accommodated various cultures throughout the vast number of years. Exhibits are well presented.

“Nice building - not such an interesting exhibition”
Reviewed 12 April 2014 via mobile

The place is in reconstruction currently (12.4). Some of the rooms are strangely arranged (drawings in the library room with no evidence of books).
Student price is a little bit expensive, 4.5€.
