We have just stayed 2N at Furano Natulux from 2 - 4 July 2012.
The hotel is less than 5 mins walk from the Furano JR Station, which is an excellent location, especially when carrying heavy luggage. One can see the hotel as the JR train arrives into the station.
Natulux is a boutique hotel with tiny rooms at an expensive price (i.e, we could get a 4- 5 star hotel in Otaru or Sapporo for similar rates). It has a small reception area, which can get quite crowded when the JR train comes in with guests.
The double room is only around 160 sq ft. We had problems moving around the room, with only 2 pieces of luggage. The washroom is small, but comes with a bath tub. Natulux provides good quality toiletries, including a Lavender herbal bath salt. The bed is a queen sized one and comfortable. Somehow, we did not get a good sleep on both nights we were there, and suspected it could be to the bed being relatively small (a King size would be better).
For the breakfast included, guests can choose a standard Japanese or Western style set. The servings are large and delicious. However, the ingredients are almost the same for the 2 mornings we were there, so it could get boring for guests staying for longer days. The service at the cafe was excellent! The staff were always smiling, friendly and helpful.
All in all, we like Natulux for its proximity to the JR station. However, in consideration of the tiny room size and standard breakfast vs the high room rates, we would prefer alternative options if we return to Furano.
