“Dinas Cottage”
Reviewed 14 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Beautifully kept cottage, clean and well decorated with every amenity and private parking. I stayed with my two sons for a walking weekend. Great facilities and equipment, especially television, well furnished and excellent bedrooms and wet room especially welcome after a long day on the mountain. The owner was cheerful, helpful and thorough and has excellent local knowledge of inns, restaurants and the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I am looking forward to a second stay with my wife. Thank you

“Nice cottage”

Joanna is a lovely very helpful owner who goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The cottage is basic but clean and homely. A good base to explore Snowdonia.

Beautiful cottage that felt like home from the moment we arrived. Quiet, cozy and well appointed it was everything we needed and more. Had a wonderful time made all the better having somewhere this nice to come 'home' to each evening.

What a fantastic review, I can't thank you enough. I over the moon that you had such a fabulous holiday, you really did pack it in over the week and visited so many sights. I had a great read of your write up in the visitors book. Thank you for your wonderful kind words about the cottage and myself too. I especially love your comments that you wish to take the bed home and about the kitchen gadgets! So looking forward to welcoming you all back for another visit to Blaenau, the mountains, beaches, castles and so much more. X

“Perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 10 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the start of September. The cottage was lovely and cosy, especially after a long day of walking. It is in a great location, there is a walk right outside of the cottage which was plesant. We were also a short drive away from lots of walks which can be found in the cottage in a folder - there is one especially for dog walks which we found really useful.

The town is small but has plenty of options for food - fish and chips, Chinese, Indian etc. The people in the town are also really friendly and all say Hi!

Our dog, yogi, loved lying by the fire after a day out. We all thought the cottage was was really cosy and had everything we needed.

Joanna was a great host and we had plenty of communication prior to the visit.

There is also a good private parking space which is useful and it lead straight into the back garden.

We also recommend visiting Zip World Velocity - it's a 40 minute drive but definitely worth it! There is also Zip World Titan and Caverns within walking distance of the cottage. An amazing experience with breathtaking views!

We went to visit Swallow Falls with the dog for a walk but we forgot our purse and didn't realise that we needed to pay to get in so just a note for anyone wanting to visit - it is £1.50 per adult or 50p per child. We saw a glimpse of the waterfall and it looked amazing.

We would defiantly visit the cottage again as we didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted!

A perfect break away and we would recommend it to anyone! Especially if you have dogs.

Thank you for your most terrific review. It was a pleasure to have met you both, and of course Yogi, and I am so pleased you had a wonderful stay and that you found the cottage cosy and comfortable. It is a very dog friendly location, especially with the walks straight from the door onto the mountainside and as you mentioned the private parking enclosure at the back, well off the road. You are most welcome back anytime you wish to return and thank you for the Staffordshire oat cakes, they were delicious.

We had great comms from Joanna the owner in the run up to our stay. All the info we could possibly need.

On arrival we were astounded by how well equipped the cottage is. We sat in the garden that evening with a wine listening to the birds. The next day Peta the cleaner popped over to say hi (she lives opposite) and make sure we were OK with everything. She also wanted to meet our parrot Captain Jack! She asked if she could come back with her son later to meet the parrot and we were only too delighted to oblige.

We had a day out in nearby Portmeirion and Porthmadog and did the steam railway back to Blaenau Ffestiniog. A great day out I can highly recommend.

On our check out morning Joanna popped by to say hi and meet Captain Jack. It rounded off a lovely all too short 2 days in the cottage.

Thank you for your lovely review - it was a pleasure to welcome you both and Captain Jack - my first parrot, I was delighted. So glad to read you found the cottage so well equipped - we have tried our very best to ensure it is a"home from home". The garden is lovely in the evening to sit and relax in and watch the sun dip behind the mountains. Please do come and stay again.
