Calm, peaceful environment, free of any kind of pollution.A very well maintained property, with extravagant lawns and gardens. We were quite pleasantly surprised to see such a huge resort in Govardhan. The place is that huge that you would need a Golf cart or a car to comfortably take a round trip of the property.Reaching the place can be a challenge for people coming to Govardhan for first time as approach roads though well maintained do not have proper signage.
All rooms are good and you can request for specific location which hotel obliges to
Food was very good and reasonable priced. Rooms are large and well maintained. All cottages are placed in a circular ring shaped formation with a lawn at the center of group of cottages, so ample space for family to sit out and enjoy evening tea. Temples are nearby but going to Mathura or Vrindavan will take about 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic.

Few improvement opportunities:-
1. If paying direct to hotel, They insist on payment by cash as Card machines either do not work or customer has to pay extra.surcharge, I was told around 2%
2. Company still does not have a online payment facility, Very surprising. You cannot go to hotel website and pay them directly. You either have to use third party travel site like Expedia or pay by cash on arrival.
3. Room service needs to be more attentive while handling phone calls, they are in hurry to disconnect. At times this can get annoying.
4. We were not provided with usual toiletries like shaving kit, dental kit and there are no good departmental stores nearby, but they can provide you one on charge

I booked a hotel for Mathura at makemytrip and i got this resort in search result. It was not clear that resort is almost 25 km from mathura. I resort was the best in Goverdhan but too far away for my trip. It has extremely well laid cottages and 70% green area. Most of the facilities and food was just average. I read many reviews before booking this resort and it seems that no feedback from past fellow travelers has been taken. The blinds in room still fall off if you pull them slightly hard to open. The towel holder in bathroom still cannot tAke the weight of a towel. Half of the holes on shower still seem to be blocked.
Over all experience was good due to amount of greenery and open space in resort.

I have not stayed at this resort but from past 12 years I am staying at Mathura property. Today I just came back from mathura and stayed at radha ashok. I never find problem with these guys. its the best . Also I have visited Radha Ashok brij, but it was overbooked. I found the property extremely charming.

Room Tip: all rooms are good. for special occasions go for suite.

Great oasis, the surrounding area can be over whelming for some. Nice to comeback from your daily excursions and enjoy the gated calming offering the hotel offers. Visited in March 2014 shame about a few mosquitoes in the bathroom, just take your own insecticide. Apart from than I would rate this 3.5 - 4 stars!! Great gardens, nice cottage like accommodation and tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We decided to do something different to herald 2014 and thus a trip to Goverdhan with the entire family. Getting the place booked was not easy as they don't want to talk on the phone and don't reply to the mails in entirety. Replies are standard cut and paste of the tariff sheet and very curt. Therefore it took a lot of time and patience to get the place booked. The management remarks (defensiveness) on negative reviews was another put off but we still decided to stay at this property.

The property itself is very good with huge potential. The reception at the resort was not very welcoming. We were 11 of us and were told to wait as the rooms were being readied. It was past 300 pm, well beyond the advertised check in time. Anyway we got couple of rooms soon and put our bags. The cottages are OK but maintenance is poor. There was water leakage in almost all the bathrooms and we had four of them.

The food is vegetarian and taste is good but I don't understand why they had to touch everything by bare hands and the thumb of the server was dipping in every curry that he brought. It was a huge put off. We pointed it out to the people but apparently they are used so used to it that they cannot help it. It was the same at breakfast. All the Puris and Bhatures were "manhandled". The person even offered to butter the bread for me using his hands but that was a little too much for me as I could see him using his hands for a lot of other purposes...So much for some basic hygiene.

The resort website lists a bar, but they don't have it. The indoor pool is not heated. Gym and other facilities are basic. The resort it huge and the marketing person did his best to sell one of the villas to us. Getting a bonfire on the new year eve was pretty taxing, but finally we managed a small pot of fire in the open.

I would like to congratulate the reviewer who talked about the 100 rs for extra tea bags. We were mentally prepared for it but seemingly they don't charge it any longer. i was looking hard for the sign that the management has talked about in their reply to the negative review but didn't see it. LOL!!!

The overall impression & my whole experience of the place was that though the place is great and has a huge potential, the staff and management is very ordinary and they cannot take criticism in good spirit. I hope I will not see the detailed explanation (read denial) of every negative aspect that I have highlighted in my review & they will take it constructively to improve their services.

I experienced better hospitality this time than earlier, it is good that they are improving however yet need to improve in terms of services, courtesy and hospitality. Like the room heaters burnt and was replaced with a remark that no more available, all rooms are full.
