It's an old caravansaray and you feel it in every corner. The atmosphere is charming.
Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served as open buffet, clean and delicious.

Only minus is that we stayed there in Ramadan so we couldn't get dinner at the time we wanted because it was before iftar (the breaking of the Ramadan fast, when people who were fasting were allowed to stop fasting and eat) so we had to go out to eat, which actually ended happily because the restaurant (Ezogelin Kebap Restaurant) served really delicious food so I'm kinda thankful for that ;)

Very nice old building in the heart of the city-probably the best in Usak. Some people may find the standart rooms a bit small but as this building is an old inn, this is normal. The breakfast was good and the drinks in the minibar are on the house. Rooms are clean with standart size bathroom ensuite. I definately recommend this hotel to anyone who will visit Usak.

As we drove from Izmir to Usak I looked at hotels along the way. The quality appeared to fall the further we got from Izmir. We arrived in Usak and since it was a larger city I felt confident that the hotel would be OK. On arrival it was more than OK it was excellent.
The welcome was warm and friendly - and not the forced type you get in the chain hotels - this was natural and really made me feel welcome. The room was nice and neat and of adequate size. The bed with its quilt gave a very nice restful sleep. A flat screen TV, nice wardrobe, good bathroom and shower with almost instant hot water were among the amenities.
The rooms are wrapped around a central atrium that serves as a dining and meeting area. Its olde world charm is only broken by a large flat screen TV on one wall, but even that had been done properly without the usual tangle of wires.
The food is typical of the area and is very good, plentiful (sometimes too much) and well priced.
It felt like the old family-style Bed & Breakfast rather than a hotel.
Hopefully I will return to Usak one day....... I will definitely stay at Otel Dűlğeroğlu again.

This is a beautifully restored 19th century kervansaray ('coaching inn') with the originally open courtyard covered as the hotel 'atrium'. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with tasteful decor. The service was great and the staff very friendly - we didn't eat dinner so can't comment on the restaurant though the included breakfast was fine (we were the only ones staying that night so they had plated the breakfast early that morning). It is mainly used by Turkish business travelers so pretty empty at the weekend. Standard rack rates were 110TL/night with breakfast for 2 people, 140TL for a 2 room suite.

Don't miss the Uşak archeological museum which is a 10 minute walk away - it houses the (in)famous Karun Treasure.

If you do find yourself in this part of Turkey, you should follow the Lonely Planet's advice and stay at this property. The hotel itself is over 100 years old and has been beautifully renovated to restore the feeling of the past. The experience is fantastic and much needed after a long day of driving or site-seeing on your way here. As you approach the city, you may be worried about the possibilities of finding such a gem. I loved the motto of the hotel: "Feel the nostalgia," which is so true for this hotel.

The hotel spans one city block in Usak, and you enter through which was probably for horses and carriages. At least 3 people met us at the entrance as we arrived very late at night. The property was very well attended at all hours and it felt very safe. They opened the dining room for us at 10PM or so, but we opted to eat in the city, which was probably a mistake. In the morning I took a glimpse at the restaurant, which was decorated to match the period feel.

The main lobby of the hotel is exactly as it appears on its website. Most of the guests were snapping photos of it. A fountain stands in the middle and the sound of running water was very soothing as you eat breakfast. On the second floor, seating areas are ample to people watch and meet others staying at the hotel. The rooms are somewhat large and have air-conditioning (you will have to request that they turn it on). My room was very clean and included a mini-bar with bottled water. The shower was fantastic and the room includes high quality soap and shampoo. The window of my room opened up onto Usak's streets and you wonder what it used to be like to stay here many many years ago.

  • Liked — nostalgic feel, historic hotel
  • Disliked — nothing to add here
