“Lovely stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

First time at les cimes blanches although I was staying with friends who have been many times before. Unlike others we didn't have a prolonged check-in and our chalet was ready earlier than the standard 5pm (which is rather late) but this could have been because the complex was only around half full. I was impressed with the comfort & facilities in our 4-bed chalet - although we all agreed that a log-burner would have been the icing on the cake! There were a few minor niggles such as some lights not working and we suffered a power cut on the first night , but this was all quickly put right the next morning. The resort itself was suitable for the many levels if skier in our group from beginner to expert, and we did not experience the queues which other reviewers have mentioned. The beautiful pool and spa complex were a welcome addition when the low cloud meant forced an early finish one day. The location is particularly good if travelling on the train from London, not so convenient if flying in. All said a lovely stay which I would recommend

Stayed there Jan 2014. Overall, nice impression: new and modern facilities, spacious appartments, friendly staff, walk-in sized ski room, ski in|out. On the downside, the hotel is located at some distance from the center, but it is really only 300-500 meters, and it gets at you only if you have to walk up back to the hotel. What I didn't like is the inventory list you have to go through: I really would like to add more quality time to my vacation than going through the amount of teaspoons or appliancies I have never heard of.

Dear DeLit,

Thank you for having posted your contentment, all the staff was pleased to find it out. I introduce myself, Pascal Lavigne, new director of the residence from next summer season.
According to your remark, we just would like to notice that we are not a hotel but a residence, which means the clientele won’t enjoy the same services. We are sincerely sorry that it appeared unpleasant for you to do the inventory, but we need to make it work that way to keep more time for the face to face relationship with our guests.
Hope to see you again next season,

Yours Sincerely,

For the 9th consecutive year we stayed at the Cimes Blanches Apartment complex in La Rosiere. In the last 9 years La Rosiere, which was primarily a family resort well hidden in the French Alps, has expanded and become more busy and now is even crowded at times. Mainly British, Belgian and a few Dutch visitors among a lot of native French families stay at Les Cimes Blanches. The apartment complex was new when we first came 9 years ago, but is now showing signs of wear and tear! On our arrival, we found that the balcony door did not close properly and cold wind was blowing through the cracks. Not all lamps were working, one lamp was missing, loose tiles in the flooring, no bath plug, etc. etc. The wifi/internet in our apartment did not work properly most of the time, and according to the reception this was because we were too far away from the main reception for the signal to come through. Naturally we asked reception to correct these issues, but were told the manager did not have time for us. It was two days later that finally things got (more or less) fixed after our repeated requests. All in all a disappointing way to be treated, particularly since we are "regulars".
The apartment itself is small, but cosy. Good bathrooms, good beds, nice little kitchen, all you may need for a nice holiday. However, our kids are now teenagers, and with 4 grownups, even the two bedroom apartment becomes almost too small. Space is really used up to the last square cm, so you need to be able to adapt to bumping into each other and living in cramped space. Not so bad when the children are smaller, but could be an issue with larger kids.
Our biggest complaint is actually the service. Initially in the first few years, service was excellent and always with a smile. This year however we found reception staff was fully overworked, and each question was answered with a NO. Cannot be done, cannot be asked, cannot give service, etc. etc. Sometimes to the point of being rude ("It is your fault Madam") and unfriendly. Never before have we experienced this and we really felt we were not treated like guests.
Other facilities in the complex are excellent. There is a bread service in the morning (although reception found it difficult at times to keep track of the right bread order, often delivering someone else's bread), a large and well kept swimming pool, and a wonderful spa. Ski in and out possible to most of the apartment buildings make for a wonderful wintersports experience. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes for the ski lifts however, as there are now so many visitors that space is limited on the slopes. It is time for La Rosiere to invest in new ski lifts, to be able to accomodate all tourists. The village itself is small, cosy and is really family oriented. Do not expect many shops nor designer brands, as it is limited to a few touristic shops and a small supermarket. Excellent for a few groceries, but nothing to be called a shopaholics paradise. Choice of restaurants, but again, nothing fancy.
Next year we will be looking at other options for our wintersports holiday, as La Rosiere is getting too crowded, and Les Cimes Blanches is lacking its former excellence.

Room Tip: Apartments far away from reception do not have good internet access. There are two types of "sl...

We stayed here for Christmas week and had a lovely time. The apartment was gorgeous, immaculately cleaned and with every possible kitchen gadget you can imagine (although they were slightly obsessive over inventories!). Views from the apartment were stunning. It was however like a sauna and even with turning off all the rads and opening all doors windows we were frequently too hot the insulation must be amazing!

Check in was straightforward however somewhat lacking in useful information. It took us a while to find out the best place to park to access our apartment and lift combo to minimise lugging all our gear around. A bit tricky to find the best access to the slopes also. Took a while to find our way around. We were also not given a key to our dedicated spa locker until we requested it, nor the pin to open the door. It was only on the departure day that we saw a notice in the car park showing a space reserved specifically for us! No-one had told us these things. Apparently DVD players and DVDs are available to rent free of charge but you need to prebook before arrival so we missed out. Wifi was also down for the first day. All minor niggles of course.

The spa was lovely and a fabulous way to end the day. Ski bus stops right outside so very convenient and only a short walk to centre of Les Eucherts. Would definitely go back.

Having just returned from a week at Les Cimes Blanche over New Year I'm really disappointed in the property. It didn't start well with not being able to access the apartment until after 6pm having arrived in the early morning. They simply hadn't organised enough cleaning staff, thoroughly unprofessional. Many, many disgruntled travellers in a packed reception area. A small token of apology from the management should have been forthcoming for those who had to wait beyond their 'guaranteed' access time of 5pm. We had friends who arrived at 11pm after a 20 hr journey from hell and the receptionist unbelievably could only complain about her work day being 16 hrs long. It may have been a long day but it's her job to be civil.
Also once you get to your apartment even though they know how many people will be sleeping there they don't leave towels and bedding for those sleeping in the living room so yet another trip to reception to queue up for them! Complete nonsense.
The good points are the ski-in ski-out location, the boulangerie delivery each morning, the cleanliness which was excellent and the ski bus stop right outside the door to go to La Rosiere (I tore a ligament so this was invaluable for going to the Dr's surgery).
We booked a 1 bedroom apartment to sleep 4 knowing 2 of us would be in the living room. We hadn't expected to be squashed on the floor with inches to spare between the TV and the dining table. We've never been in such a small apartment!! And there is nowhere to store your clothes in the living room so you're having to live out of suitcases, climbing over them to get to anything. For the price we paid, even considering this is one of the most expensive weeks of the year, it was extremely poor value for money. Luckily we were travelling with friends who had the larger 3 bed apartment across the corridor so we could go there to 'breathe'.
Rooms are very hot at night so difficult to sleep and no way to regulate the temperature.
This is our 3rd time in Les Eucherts and we'll be back next winter, probably not to Les Cimes Blanche though.

The resort is well designed and organised and with a little pre-planning you can have a perfect holiday. When the snow is good its a ski in ski out location and when not there are a few short cuts to learn down to the main lift and ski school which dont involve following the road down which is the longest route.
The apartments have everything you need we were in a two bed for two adults and two kids. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms well appointed great shower. The kitchen is galley style and a bit low on workspace if you are catering to 4-6 but has everything you need you can also borrow raclette and fondue from reception. Breakfast you can order fresh baked goods every morning which is a nice touch.
The pool and spa are also nice additions if you can drag yourself of the slopes in time.

One complaint I would have is the dogs, the resort is dog friendly and the management have put in all the resources for people to clean up after their dogs but people just dont. It's a shame when you have kids playing in pristine snow with dog mess around. We were lucky we had so much snow but if you didnt you would probably notice the 'gift' our fury friends left behind.

All in all a good location book in advance for views and location near lifts parking for moving luggage around as the chalet blocks are outside and spread around.

For great vin chaud and hot chocolate try the three bears near the ski school.

Room Tip: Higher floors all have good views close to reception and parking to avoid dragging luggage
