We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Corner Cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches and attention to detail. Thanks to Jean and Ramsay who welcomed us warmly and were very ready to help with any queries, without being intrusive.
The perfect base for a lovely area. The cottage was immaculately presented and thoughtfully equipped. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly.
We had a lovely week at Corner Cottage - a real home from home! The cottage is immaculate, clean and comfortable and a place in which we could truly relax. We appreciated the warm hospitality and welcome, not to mention the cake and chocolates! The weather was brilliant too, which wonderfully set off the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
We recently stayed at Corner Cottage and had a lovely time. The cottage is absolutely spotless and is a credit to Jean and Ramsay, the towels and bed linen are top quality and the bed is huge and oh so comfy. We had plenty of snow whilst there but the central heating and the extra boost of the gas fire in the lounge kept us toasty.
The wi-fi is good and the TV is bang up to date. Wolsingham is a lovely village, Peggotys, the bakery and tea shop is superb. We loved everything about our holiday and will definately be back. Thank you Jean and Ramsay.
an excellent cottage in a amazing village location a very warm and friendly welcome we would visit again
I booked the cottage to visit my daughter and family who live a short distance away. The cottage is located on the B6296 on the north side of Wolsingham and delightful country walks begin on a path right next to the cottage.
Jean Muckle rightly prides herself on her spotless and very well appointed accommodation. On entry to the cottage you pass through a porch and compact living room to the dining room and then the kitchen. Cooking is by gas and there is a gas fire in the living room. The gas CH is preset so check with Jean or husband Ramsay when you would like the intervals set. Upstairs there is a large bathroom to the rear, with view over the fields, and comfortable bedroom to the front. WARNING - the two doorways upstairs are very low and at 6' 2'' I hit my head several times before I learnt to duck!
Overall the standard of the cottage is very high and a warm welcome awaits you. The Weardale countryside is a delight and a walk long along the Weardale Way starting from Frosterley is recommended.
