Staff very helpful and available all times of the day and night. Good restaurant next door. You must try their breakfasts. You can have a really good nights sleep. Parking and access for wheelchairs very good. Within easy reach of the sea and Cardiff. A really good place for the family to enjoy themselves.

As usual, everything I'd come to expect from Premier Inn. Spotlessly clean, very good bathroom and comfortable bed. Bigger telly than usual! Very minor niggles only - a bit of traffic noise (not a problem on a cold November night with the windows shut but might be another story in July) and a room thermostat and heater that both clicked rather loudly as the heating came on and off throughout the night. Helpful and friendly staff. I had room 40, not as big as some in which I've stayed but fine for me.

Well after staying here on business and having stayed in many premier inns. Even though this hotel has recently been refurbished it's about average.

The beefeater next door was on the other hand aweful! I have never been in such a place that serves poor food and has aweful service!

The first night I stayed I only had breakfast in the morning and I was served two burnt sausages that I could even see the meat. They were so burnt they had shrunk so small I wondered what they were.

I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and stayed one night the following week.

Oh dear... What a mistake. First Of all I had a 45 minute wait for food then it finally came and I have never ever had so much grissell in a rack of ribs. I mean what animal did that come from?? The waitress then had the cheek to ask if I wanted another drink because I ran out waiting for food. Anyway I managed to get a free pint after complaining.

The meat was also very poor quality.

So thought I try the pudding which was ok but took 20 minutes to arrive.

My breakfast the next morning was ok but told they only had 1 sausage left after asking for two. Not really all you can eat then is it?

I wouldn't come back here if you paid me and for a business trip well, I won't be recommending this one.

Stayed here as I was struggling to find a room in the centre on a match day.

Very pleased with staff, room and eating options available. Staff in particular we're very attentive and room was spacious, very clean and modern.
There is a beefeater attached and it was around £8 each for an all you can each breakfast, hot food made to order, again all you can eat which was a nice change.

Would definitely consider for a stay in Cardiff again

We travelled down from Stoke on the Friday morning ready for the Rugby League World Cup opening ceremony. Arrived too early to book in (not before 2pm) so went to have a look around the area, Penarth sea front (difficult to find due to lack of signage) was small but very clean and tidy with free parking but limited space, pier being renovated. Went to Cardiff Bay which is a new development where the docks used to be, fabulous range of restaurants many interesting buildings - well worth a few hours (on street parking £1 per hour). Arrived back at hotel (don't be put off by the scruffy external appearance not helped by entering the site from the rear of the building). Very warm welcome from a very helpful young man on reception, explained workings of a Premier Inn, and talked about travel suggestions to get into Cardiff on match day, room very clean and tidy although limited number of Freeview channels on TV. Had a meal in the adjacent Beefeater which was good quality but expensive (£11 - £20 for main meal) and limited variety, although again the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Had an excellent night's sleep and breakfast, eat as much as you can as again is expensive. Caught bus into Cardiff (£1.70 single flat rate and bus station right next to ground and city centre) as suggested by the young man on reception due to limited parking and all roads around the stadium being closed for 2-3 hours before and after kick off. Really enjoyed the opening ceremony and impressed by the Millennium Stadium with the roof closed, reasonably priced food and drink. Our only mistake was not checking where to catch bus back (others in hotel had similar problems) as bus station closed and no information as to where to go, asked a few police but they did not know. Answer is Tudor Street - from corner of ground adjacent to bus station just across the river. Having walked all round asking people where bus stop was - no one knew, In by now pouring rain found a taxi rank (£14 back to Wenvoe). Had another good nights sleep ate hearty breakfast and returned home via Wye Valley after an excellent weekend - would recommend this hotel and will stay here again if we can get tickets for Wales v England in the Six Nations Rugby Union - very friendly and helpful staff - most city centre hotels seem to get booked up very early.

Whilst the stay was only for 1 night, was impressed with the courtesy of the reception manager. We were unable to get dinner at the adjoining restaurant owing to the busyness of the hotel and additional clients at the restaurant. So the reception manager phoned around a number of places to book 8 of us into a restaurant for dinner. Having booked the tables we required along with necessary children's seating, he went on to provide written detail of directions to the restaurant.
During the night the hotel alarm was activated owing to two people deciding to smoke in their room, despite very clear notices warning people NOT to smoke. The management handled the whole incident superbly, despite the lateness of the alarm activation, offering to assist in any matters regarding refunds for the disturbance. In addition to expelling the offending smokers from their room as a result of the alarm activation.
So whilst we didn't get an undisturbed night of sleep, we were impressed with the overall experience at Premier Inn Cardiff West,
