Some of the best food I`ve eaten in that area. Couldn`t recommend more highly. The whole family participate and were very friendly without being intrusive.

This restaurant is a real treasure in the Dordogne. The delicious food is perfectly matched by the ambience and warm welcome by the owners, Harry and Jean Claude. The chef, Jean Claude uses only the freshest local produce to create a wonderful Vietnamese menu. My personal favourites from his menu are the prawn and vegetable rolls and the lamb curry. The evening menu is reasonably priced at 22 euros for 3 courses including wine. A big thank you to Harry and Jean Claude for being great hosts. Janet and John Elford

Picture a bog standard Perigordian village bar , step inside and eat some of the finest Vietnamese / French fusion cuisine you have ever eaten . When I say fusion I mean not in style , more so Haute Cuisine meets Vietnamese . There is no menu but who cares with food this good . A wonderful mushroom and noodle soup to start with Margeret de Canard in a ginger and mango sauce to follow and a lovely big bowl of sticky rice on the side, a delicious fruity Creme Brulee for pudding . 22.50 Euros each including all wine. They are staffed only by 2 , a very nice young bloke front of house and his father cooking in the kitchen . If this restaurant was in Mayfair it would of earned a Michelin Star by now.

I was taken to this restaurant last week by friends. I thought we were in a bar! A few tables
outside under umbrellas. The owner could not be more charming or helpful. We had a simply marvelous dinner, cooked and served by the owner's father! A Vietnamese gentleman who cooks superbly. Our meal was entirely fish, fresh and perfectly cooked, wonderfully spiced and altogether delicious. This is a real place for locals and a discovery if you are anywhere near Riberac I recommend that you try it.

I have now visited Le Jessy on a number of occasions, on each visit I have taken different friends. The food has never ceased to impress. Delicious and innovative, quite different from any other of the restaurants in the Riberac area. Mostly
Vietnamese with a strong Thai influence. All the produce is fresh, lots of prawns and scallops cooked with ginger and lemongrass and other exotic ingredients for starters. Usually a choice of three main dishes, the duck breast with a sweet mango sauce is out of this world, their main fish course quite different from any I have eaten elsewhere. All followed with a delightful desert. A carafe of good wine is included in the very reasonable cost of the meal- about 22/24euro for dinner and considerably less for lunch. The surroundings are simple but charming and clean, there are tables outside on a small terrace by the small road which wends through the village. The inside of "the cafe" has place settings for may be 20/30 people on basic tables in an elegant little "bar/restaurant setting". I and all the guests I have taken there want or have already gone back. If you are in the area looking for a place to eat, both cheap and perfect, go to Le Jessy at Bourg du Bost.
