What a pleasure it was to stay in this beautifully restored elegant house, where your every need has been catered for.The food and the wine we had was excellent, and we were able to sample quite a few! Our hosts John and Sue were most welcoming and very knowledgable about the area and all the local vineyards which they are surrounded by..Some wonderful places to visit in the vicinity, not too far away. An added bonus is being able to buy some of the wines you have sampled, as John has a fine selection for you to choose from.. We can't wait to return and have recommended it to everyone we know who is about to visit France.

Stayed for 3 nights and also took part in various wine tastings organised by our hosts. Lovely house, huge and comfortable room, friendly relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was good and very generous, 4 course evening meal was a real treat. Very much hope to go back and would 100% recommend

Staying at the same build where John and Sue usually live, tells you everything about the kind of amazing and relaxing time which you are going to enjoy at the village of Restigne, the heart of the Bourgueil vineyards district. And believe me, this is a no-brainer if you expect to spend your holidays in a like-your-home environment. Sue cooks amazing meals and she is as friendly as anybody you had met before. John is a wine enthusiast, and as a former wine-merchant, he really knows what to expect for an excellent wine. He is also a very classy guy, so don't hesitate to talk to them and have some fun. Bedrooms are excellent, roomy and everything is very well detailed, so you have to expect for a very high quality and comfortable staying. Not to say that we hope to be able to coming back very soon. We built a very good relationship with their hosts.

We stayed for a week at the end of March. The room was lovely with views of the Garden and Vineyards to the front and Vineyards to the back. The bed was very comfortable and the the bathroom luxurious.

Lots of places to visit including Azey and Villandry but we particularly enjoyed Saumur where John (our Host) had recommended a visit to the cellars of Grenelle (Sparking wine producer) where we toured the cellars and then tasted excellent wines. To cap it all John had arranged a special discount for us on our purchases.

If you like Loire Wines a stay in St Georges is a must. John has lots of contacts with local growers who are happy to show off their wines.

The food home cooked by Sue was exceptional and the best chambre d'hote food we have experienced in the many chambre d'hotes we have stayed in. Every meal we had at St Georges was excellent and never the same. We regreted our one restaurant dinner. It was good but not up to St George standard. Almost forgot the wines served with the meals, they were all local and very good.

We will be returning in the autumn.

Derek and Sandra

This was truly the perfect break for us. Our hosts John and Sue were lovely and Sue's cooking is out of this world, complemented by some fabulous wines chosen by John. Our room was the very spacious and luxurious Champigny, and we enjoyed views straight out across the vineyards. We always love visiting this area of France, and this year was no exception. The added luxury of staying at St. Georges made it feel very special. We will definitely be returning to St. Georges.

I really enjoyed my stay at St Georges I havent been to that area of France before and really loved the B&B and the beautiful countryside. John and Sue are friendly and knowledgable about the area. My room was really nice with a view of vine yards and the house was elegant and I liked the style. I went with family and although John and Sue were attentive it felt like they let us relax in there home and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was really good and evening meals were really tasty and prepared well - amazing food.

I would have no hesitation in recommending St Georges B&B to friends and feel that John and Sue's hospitality and accommodation made my holiday extra special. I would also like to stay there again.

Stayed in this superbly restored Maison Maitre set amongst vineyards on a wine tasting weekend with friends in Restigne, close to Saumur in the Loire Valley. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished, with wonderful bathrooms. John (retired wine merchant) arranged vineyard tastings - one just 50m down the road - that covered a whole range of Loire wines and we bought some lovely examples of Chinon, Bourgueil, Vouvray, Saumur etc. The multi-course meals in the evenings were superb, with excellent food which was complemented by wines chosen to match each course. Restigne is very pretty and there is easy access to the city of Saumur and lots of chateaux to visit within a short drive. A fabulous few days staying with welcoming hosts - we enjoyed ourselves very much and learned lots about the wines of the Loire.
