“The best choice in San Leone”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

San Leone is no big deal in terms of restaurants: most of the places are far too touristic and lack every bit of charm. Trattoria Caico is a bit of an exception: they serve excellent food (the spaghetti alla vongole is just perfect!), offer a large choice of good wines, quick service. Prices are a bit higher than elsewhere in Sicily, but still more than OK (we paid €68 for a starter, main course, water and wine). If you're too tired to drive up to the city center of Agrigento, trattoria Caico is an excellent address.

“Nice food”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

We were recommended this place by our hotel. We decided to give it a try. They only open at 8pm, you can sit down to have a drink before 8pm. We arrived at 7:30pm, but were told come back at 8pm only quite rudely, but we need food, so we decided to wait for 30mins anyway. Lucky the food was good.

“if you wanna feel forgoten and not hungry at all ...”
Reviewed 29 April 2013

we arrive bit late, which is after 9 pm, so first part of tourists who decided to eat there was just about to leave.
We ask for menu and wine, which arrived quite fast.
After waiting 30 minutes for giving an order whatching desperetly and trying to bring attention of 2 staff members who were cleaning the tables (3 tables to be prices) next to us, we decide to go inside and give an order directly, 30 min afterwards the waiter came to take an order!!!!
and was quite surprised that we were really unhappy with their poor service...
I won't mention the comment about two foreigners who were supposed to be 'happy about even having a chance to be there' and about beig too demanding to mention those nicest ones..

Hey guys - someone can actually understand your language without using it in active manner ...

The food - quite decent, came 10 minuts later, which is not surprise, if we take into account that cooking the pasta, or actually reheating pasta and sauce doesn't take much time ...

while leaving - we have paid by card, and none asked me to come by with card, just card was taken and staff memeber dissapeared ... to appeared once again asking for PIN...

The only good thing was a wine and nice wineshelf - which covered whole wall inside.

Food - fair, wine - good, staff- unexcepetable...

“Tourist trap, much better on offer cheaper in Sicily”
Reviewed 14 January 2013

The evening actually started quite well as this is a good looking restaurant with a pretty impressive set of wines on offer. Although we were expecting this place to be a little bit more expensive than normal in Sicily due to it's location and dearth of other places we were expecting the quality and flavour to be better as well. However this first dishes were very small and the Vongole seemed to be frozen, also the Calamaretti fritti had obviously been fried in old oil that had previous been used for Shrimp as the clamaaretti were unusually dark, and we had lots of feelers from shrimp in with them, which was particularly distasteful. Also the owners chidlren came in which is never normally an issue, but they were so badly educated and made us most uncomfortable. Also the owner swithcing on the TV when we had been seated with havign asked specifically to be away from the TV due to not wanting to have to talk over it was particularly unwelcome.

For the price you can find much better, fresher, friendly and establishments, this guy is just milking the place and location he has. I would look elsewhere.

“First rate seafood”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

I usually ask for olive oil with my bread before a meal, and most restaurants offer basic stuff. Here, I was brought a wonderful local pressing from the same estate, Mandanova, as their house wine, which was also excellent. Excellent seafood.
