This is just a really good seafood restaurant. For the Valle di Templi my recommendation is just to drive past, find a good parking spot and gaze at the temples from the distance below, which is far more evocative of their extraordinary majesty and past. But if you do go, after the dusty trail, drive down here for a stunning lunch.

If you like fish and seafood, this is the place to come in San Leone. The range of fish was excellent and the portions more than we could eat. Local wines were very reasonably priced.

On a Wednesday evening in May, the restaurant was packed with locals plus a few tourists like us. Service was good despite the numbers, including one party of mixed languages who took some time to place their orders.

Do like the sicilians there: do not ask for the menu, avoid pastas and concentrate first on the divine desgutazione grande that the waiter will propose. The very reason is that you will probably not ave clue of the multitude of sicilian specialites this restaurant will have to offer. I loved the fish couscous covered with sliced of grilled eggplants, cinamon and pistachios. I would have never asked for it!
Then go for the fresh fish (pesce bianco) caught on the very morning and drink a sicilian white chardonnay
Tip: the waiter will propose oysters. my advice: refuse. Oysters were excellent though but came straight from French north coast of Bretagne !

A decent fish restaurant but perhaps a little pretentious, and we felt the fish was fresher at Il Capriccio Di Mare where we had eaten the night before. Although we had booked for 8:45, we were seated next to all the early-eating tourists which was disappointing and spoiled the atmosphere until they left and were replaced with locals. Not the best value. We felt we were paying for the location at the prime end of the seafront.

We were staying in Puerto Empodocle after a visit to the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. We found out that there were some very well reviewed restaurants in nearby San Leone and so we went a walked the town. We choose to eat at Trattoria Il Pescatore and we made a great choice.

We shared a Pasta con Sarde for two and it was terrific. We make this at home frequently but this was much better than ours. My wife had Eggplant Rollatini with a ground fish filling and I had a sea bream filet breaded and fried and covered with slivered almonds. Both very very good. The entire menu was extensive and mostly, as the name suggests, seafood.

The meal was simple but very well prepared and served. Setting was lovely and all was thoroughly professional. Good local wine list at reasonable prices.
