We visited San Leone after more than 3 years (and needless to say this town is in urgent need of care and attention) and decided to dine at Al Porticciolo, unfortunately for us it was a horrible experience. We ordered pizzas and pasta dishes, one was spaghetti with Vongole which was tasteless to say the least, the other dish was Spaghetti Al Porticciolo which was supposed to contain a mix of mussels and other shellfish, but the only resemblance of fish was empty shells and not taste, I must add that the pasta was raw, the chef must have dentures and perhaps forgot to put them on that day....
Service was non-existent, our waiter was either seriously disinterested in his job or feeling lackadaisical although he became quite "alive" when we paid our bill and waiting with anticipation his tip, which I am sorry to say he didn't get.
Avoid at all cost this restaurant for the quality of ingredients, poor culinary execution and rude service. This is not a restaurant but a tourist trap.

Friendly restaurant run by two brothers who oversee everything. Good service, nice atmosphere and good food reasonably priced.

We went for dinner after a long wonderful cultural day in the Valle dei Templi. This place was really nice along the sea coast.Too bad for the ugly, huge fast food stands just across the street... Ecellent shrimp carpaccio, very good fried fish (frittura di paranza), so fresh, and an excellent snapper in a red Sicilian sauce. Decent wine, fine service, reasenable price, about 70-75€ for two.

It is one of the locals with food on see river. We decided to visit it as there was a lot of people. We need to wait a while to receive our order, but it was still ok. We ordered wine and water, but we received only water, we received our food and wine we need to order one more time. The pasta was very very average....
Good that we checking the bill, as there was an error, the amount was much higher, there were additional dishes we didn't order. The bill was changed without any apologies....

Came here for lunch but ate as if for dinner. People in Italy generally eat what we would call a med-large pizza by themselves. Sicilian pizza is so much better than those in Northern Italy. Pasta seems better here as well. This pasta had a wonderful taste and texture. They added little currents which was quite tasty. Our waiter, Carmelo, was very friendly and added to the charm of the restaurant. Excellent food and service.
