“very nice family restaurant, quality food at decent prices”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

In San Leone there are more than enough places to eat, we found this place to be the one serving nice fresh food at a decent price, with servants that really are happy when you enjoy your meal!
The fresh pizzas are a real treat, this restaurant has a very good cook!

(We even returned one night for a takeway pizza, which also was delicious)
Beware: most dishes are BIG, if you're a small enjoyer, ask for a small portion

“Overall the Best in Town”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

We found this restaurant one evening and had a lovely meal. Once we had "engaged" the waiter he was friendly and helpful, as were the owners. We had several meals here and by our last evening we felt like locals.

The food and service were consistently good and we would have no hesitation in returning if we were in the area.

Excellent atmosphere and well used by the locals.

“What a disappointment!”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We visited San Leone after more than 3 years (and needless to say this town is in urgent need of care and attention) and decided to dine at Al Porticciolo, unfortunately for us it was a horrible experience. We ordered pizzas and pasta dishes, one was spaghetti with Vongole which was tasteless to say the least, the other dish was Spaghetti Al Porticciolo which was supposed to contain a mix of mussels and other shellfish, but the only resemblance of fish was empty shells and not taste, I must add that the pasta was raw, the chef must have dentures and perhaps forgot to put them on that day....
Service was non-existent, our waiter was either seriously disinterested in his job or feeling lackadaisical although he became quite "alive" when we paid our bill and waiting with anticipation his tip, which I am sorry to say he didn't get.
Avoid at all cost this restaurant for the quality of ingredients, poor culinary execution and rude service. This is not a restaurant but a tourist trap.
