“Basic but very efficient hotel”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

The Hotel is located near the airport, about 700 meters from the train station, it's convenient for overnight stops and profits for arrivals and departures.
The rooms are clean and quiet. The structure is very basic and minimal.
The staff are efficient, courteous, discreet and serious. The front desk is open at all hours of the day and night.
You can book the shuttle to the airport. The breakfast is free of charge. Many of the rooms are accessible to the handicapped.

Although close to the railway line and the airport runway we had a quieter room away from the railway. This hotel offers great value for money and includes a substantial breakfast menu. The location is ideal for late arrivals at Ciampino airport and the shuttle bus service back to the airport either for a flight or to collect a hire care is useful at only 4euros per passenger.
A ten minute walk to the railway station takes you quickly into the centre of Rome for only 3euros return.
The rooms are well appointed with a good heating/aircon system. On our second night there was a boiler fault so no hot water was available in the morning and as compensation the hotel removed a 34euro dinner charge from our account, very generous. We will use again!

Room Tip: We have rated the swimming pool as average, although it looks appealing we did not use it. The room...

After leaving our hotel in Rome, with promises of thunderstorms all day threatening to cancel our flight home, we booked a room here, near the airport, just in case. It was only 27 euros. We had a good rest and shower (water steaming hot!) before getting the transfer to the airport for our evening flight, which did eventually leave 3 hours late, but we were assured that the room was still ours if we went back if the flight was cancelled.

Staff and reception clean and efficient, as was our transfer, and the menu looked very good after too much dodgy tourist pizza, but we didn't have chance to eat. The rooms themselves were described as having basic furnishings, but apart from being dated were ok. Free wifi worked pretty well too. There was a swimming pool outside too, but we skipped this as it had started to turn thundery.

The noise from the airport runway was immense though, but that would stop at night. 3/4 mile from the train station where you could get a 40 minute bus into the city, not the place to base yourself if you want to see the sights, but if you had an early flight home, or late arrival, it would be perfect. Especially at the price.

We stayed here just for the night as was visting family over in Italy and had a very early flight so stayed her and it was such a cheap price so I didn't expect much. However I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious but still an element of cosiness and the bathroom was alright. The bed was very comfortable and the food in the resturant was delicoius and very affordable! My partner had a slightly different experience as he tried to use the shower and said it was broken and leaked everywhere and the food he ordered he didn't enjoy but mine was amazing so I have not given it full stars but I would definitely stay here again as we come to Italy a lot.

We had a 3-night stay here arriving on a late Ryanair flight into Ciampino. Local buses from the airport to the railway station are every 40 minutes until around 2200 and cost €1.20. From there it's a 10-minute walk to the hotel - go through the subway to the square and turn left up the main road. The hotel do offer a €4 shuttle but it's not guaranteed to run in the evening and a taxi will set you back €15 - €20. Although the hotel overlooks the airport, it's not walkable as the terminal building is on the other side of the runway.

Staff were professional and laid-back, the restaurant sold us a bottle of wine for €6 even though they'd closed. There are food and drink vending machines in the hotel lobby and local restaurants and bars stay open late. Our room had a balcony and overlooked the swimming pool, railway line and airport runway. The double-glazing dampens the sound of the planes but you will still hear them. The double bed was in fact two single mattresses made up as a double. Our room had a divan-style settee that probably could be turned into a single bed. Modern bathroom with an extractor fan that sounded like another plane taking off. Cleanliness very good throughout. A couple of chairs on the balcony would have been nice.

We had the hotel's breakfast on our first morning. It's €5 per person and a large cold buffet with a big selection of cakes and sweet stuff (the croissants were glazed). There were also boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese, cereals and a bowl of fresh fruit. The coffee is instant and the orange is squash but they have a proper coffee machine so the Italian guests got their €1 espresso.

Ciampino is a pleasant town with a proper local pizza restaurant and a craft ale pub (the King Arthur) that does food, both just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The train to Rome Termini station runs roughly every 20 minutes (although there are some gaps in the timetable on Sundays), takes 15 minutes and costs €1.50. Staying here was SO much cheaper than a hotel in the city centre. Would definitely recommend and would use again - the pool would be a big bonus in summer.

This was our first stop on a 10-day trip of Italy. We stayed here 4 nights. The rooms are a bit tight but clean. The electrical system and card room key was a pain, but we got used to it and learned out to manipulate it. TV was a joke, but that's OK. We weren't there much to watch it. All in Italian anyway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food on sight was good and plentiful (especially breakfast). Nearby community was fun and interesting. Traffic on nearby highway was busy and constant.

Stayed here for 1 night before catching a flight from the airport.
I wanted to give this hotel a higher star rating say 4 out of 5, but being objective, the inside of the building and rooms are a little dated/ functional.
That said, the check in staff were helpful, and we passed a couple of cleaners going to our room who looked at our room key and took us to our room. So the staff seemed helpful.
We had a ground floor room, which, was raised from the pool/ garden area anyway. Not sure what more you get in the higher floor rooms which are advertised as more expensive.
There was some noise in the bedrooms from planes landing/ taking off- although it stopped at about 11pm and didn’t restart until 6/630Am and managed to sleep through the earliest of the morning flights.
Breakfast was more of a continental selection.
We used the train when coming out of Rome to the hotel, and walked the half a mile or so to the hotel, but used the hotel’s own minibus in the morning to go to the airport. Its 4E each. Given the 5 minute travel time perhaps they should charge per party rather than individual.
Would I stay here again, for convenience, if you have an early morning flight, yes. But its more functional/ convenient than a long stay hotel option.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for one on the opposite side to the trainline/ runway for lower aircraft noise.
