Review of Castle Park

Castle Park

The park is lovely and it has plenty to do.
The cafe sells decent refreshments but it could probably do with a decent wash down.

My only problem is the amount of dogs. What is the point in spending lots of money on the place just for dog walkers to allow there dogs to poo everywhere.

By far one of the best parks, something for everyone, perfect for any age. One of new favorite places. I love the short walk threw the woods, the play park is perfect for all age rang of children. The cafe wonderful.

I visit Castle Park on a regular basis. First of all, the main buildings contain the Frodsham Council offices, and where you can get help and advice on most things by either calling in to reception or by telephone. The basement contains a learning centre for computer-based activities and other sessions. I attend a drop-in Camera and Computer learning class each Wednesday morning. There are new dedicated, safe play areas for younger children and toddlers, and another for older children.
In the beautifully laid-out gardens, there is a water-feature, which complements the recently restored Victorian Pavilion. Go down the steps, across the smaller second car park, and you are in the Arts Centre, which has continually-changing exhibitions in it's two major presentation rooms. It is here that cultural activities of many sorts occur every day. It also has an excellent café.
I personally attend a creative writing group (Castle Park Writers) once a month, and a meeting of the Frodsham Organ Society twice monthly. Both venues are very pro-active, and the members of the Organ Society put on a show one afternoon per month.
The Bowling Greens, with another excellent pavilion and outside café complement this area. Further on, in the upper reaches of the park, some great tennis courts, and a court for football and basket ball.
When major events are happening in the town, Castle Park becomes the focal point, with fetes, shows and other major attractions being a normal activity within the park.
On top of all of this, it is just an ideal place to take the family for a picnic, or to walk the dog.
My only disappointment with the park is that all the squirrels have gone.
