I've stayed in a number of hotels in Chaweng and this ranks as the best overall when you consider the price. Stayed 8 nights here. It's far from luxurious and the rooms are perhaps slightly dated but for £20 a night you can't expect the Ritz. Huge rooms, huge bed, fridge, big bathroom with good water pressure, loads of tv channels and decent AC. Reception staff very friendly and security is good.

Location is excellent. Across the road from one of the best areas of Chaweng Beach - just walk through the Baan Samui Hotel and you are there in 2 mins. You have a 24hr McDonalds and Subway 1 minute away for any late night hunger pains. Ark Bar and the main horseshoe bar strip is 8 mins walk away up Beach Road. Can walk to Ark Bar in less time if you walk up the beach. New shopping mall is 3 mins away with loads of good restaurants. Soi Reggae is a 6 minute walk away if you leave the hotel by the back exit out towards the lake.

There's no swimming pool but who cares when you can crash the one across the road. From now on I'll always stay here.

Room Tip: Don't bother paying more for a lake view room - all the rooms are identical and the view of the lake isnt anything special.

Room was pretty good. Staff friendly. Street was noisy but we knew that before. We took the room because the receptionist told us there was a swimming pool. The day after she said the pool didn't exist - I guess she meant a bath.

If a resort in Samui isn't what you're looking for, then you should definitely consider this place. Bang in the centre of all the action at Chaweng Beach, Nora Lakeview Hotel is a great place to stay. The room I stayed in was very spacious, clean and comfortable - bathroom was very clean and had a tub. Wifi worked very well. The only reason to not stay at this place is if you're looking for a quiet place, and don't expect the girls at the reception to say or do much more than smile and greet you. But otherwise, great to get around Chaweng from here. The beach is a 2 minute walk - just cross the road and after passing Tropical Murphy, take a right and walk straight down. Excellent value for money. Shops, restaurants, tour operators, taxi & scooter rent, pharmacy, laundry, book store, Central Festival Mall, money exchange, beach all within 2 minutes walking distance. If I'd be on my own in Samui again or travelling with a friend and on a budget, I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I had the room that looked on the Chaweng Beach road, so very noisy up till about 12-1am. I'm guessing the garden view rooms are quieter.

Nora Lakeview is a very decent accommodation. It is located in Chaweng, where the main attractions are. A big plus is the newly built Central Festival. Pretty good beds, the hygiene of the bathroom is good as well.

Impressed by how large the room was. The bathroom even had a bathtub unlike most of the ones in Thailand. The hotel is centrally located, one block away from the beach and there is a ton of good food around. The night market is also literally outside the back entrance of the hotel. I would stay here again.
