We had a fabulous stay at the Anantara Lawana this Christmas. Rooms were great - traditionally Thai in style with a modern twist which we loved. Breakfast was plentiful and to a high standard. The pool area is really lovely with an infinity pool and plenty of padded loungers. The staff are fantastic and have a nothing is too much trouble approach. We will definately be returning and as I am a travel agent ( and a fussy one at that ) I will be recommending this hotel to all of my customers. Thanks to James, Lars and the staff for a fantastic time and for looking after us so well!!

Room Tip: The Deluxe Pool Access rooms are lovely and affordable.

We are currently staying at Anantara Lawana and we cannot say enough about the friendly, efficient staff, the gorgeous room with a pool, the amazing hotel facilities. We have enjoyed the beach BBQ with live music and a fire show and look forward to the Thai dancing evening on Thursday. Highly recommended.

my wife and I were married at the Anantara in October 2011, the staff and resort was fantastic, could not fault, treated like a VIP for our entire stay, our friends and family too, would recommend to everyone, a special thanks to chef Ashley for the fantastic catering and to San for the wedding organizing, would recommend staying at the Anantara, we will be back next year for another holiday, tim and cath

We stayed at the Anantara over Christmas, selecting it from a short-list of TripAdvisor reviews. It lived up to all our expectations. I would be surprised if there is a resort in Thailand which has more delightful staff. Within a day they made us feel like members of their extended family. We've stayed in some classy places over the years but nothing matched the service of the Anantara people. Nothing was too much trouble and even the simplest request was met with graciousness and smiles. The service ethic in Thailand is what makes it such a special destination and the Anantara Lawana sets the highest standard. On arrival we were offered an upgrade (paid for) to a private pool villa. But decided against it as the beach and public pool area is perfect. Form reading some of the TripAdvisor reviews were were expecting to be met by squadrons of dive bombing mosquitoes every night. Incredibly we didn't see any mosquitos or suffer from one mossie bite. Our standard deluxe room was perfect for our stay with plenty of room and a huge bathroom. The only problem was that the illumination in the rooms is very low and it is impossible to read without a reading light. Presumably the low illumination is to discourage insects. We'd also urge the management to supply more drawers and storage space. The resort is a beautiful layout of pathways meandering through lush vegetation. We had no complaint about the food. Breakfast buffet and service was slick and lunch snacks at the Ocean Kiss restaurant were a perfect break from chilling out on the sun beds. Tree Tops the gourmet restaurant literally built within some huge trees and rated third best in Koh Samui.. The Australian chef has produced a menu that wouldn't be out of place in a Michelin-rated restaurant. It's not cheap but definitely worth a blow out for at least one evening. The Anatara's spa is a luxurious set-up offering the best deep-tissue Thai massages we've ever experienced. Spending 90 minutes having the year's stress exorcised fro your body is one of life's better experiences. Chewang Beach is a THB200 cab ride away and has its own particular charm/awfulness depending on your own point of view. It's not often that a resort exceeds the promises it makes on its web site But the Anantara delivered in spades.

Room Tip: Unless you want to spend your vacation entirely in your own space and need your own pool, the private villas are probably not worth the money as the standard deluxe rooms are perfectly adequate.

I can't give enough credit to the staff and management at this property From the moment of arrival you are catered to by a staff trained for one purpose. To indulge you with the finest service. Service on par with more well known 5 star resorts such as The Four Seasons or the Mandarin Oriental. And the Anantara Lawana does not fall short. We stayed for 9 days ending in early November. The 2 bedroom Royal Lawana Pool Villa was the perfect setting for 2 friends traveling together. The outdoor dining sala and attached kitchen were perfect for entertaining and late evening poolside dining, as we did most nights of our stay. The room service menu had a wide variety of selections available 24 a day, and the food was excellent. The included breakfast buffet was quite enjoyable, and as indicated in the title, the service was impeccable. Which reminds me to highly recommend the on property dining venue named Treetops. A truly first class dining experience with, yes, impeccable service. And the goat cheese was awesome. Impeccable service is one of the few things that never ever gets old. Thanks to all at the Anantara Lawana for a memorable visit! Looking forward to returning this Spring.
