Im not usually a review writer but The Sarann really deserves one, it was brilliant in every way. From the staff to the food to the surroundings I really have nothing to fault. Our group was looking for a nice up market place to rest relax and catch up and that's exactly what it was.

The hotel offers just about anything any traveler may wish for (beautiful pool, restaurant, massage, gym, travel service, free shuttle to town, free internet and Wi-Fi, huge spacious room with huge bathroom and balcony etc) and is very neat. It also offers a good breakfast (wide selection), and is reasonably priced.

The staff were extremely friendly helpful.

This is a nicely situated hotel (away from the buzz and close to the beach and a number of good restaurants - try out Mr.Frog and a nice little restaurant on the beach 200m from the hotel). You will, however need to take a taxi or rent a scooter to get to town.

This hotel is excellent value for money!

First of all, most of the staff we encountered in the hotel was very friendly and tried to help us as much as they can. I love their smile and even felt a bit sad when we had to leave after staying there for 5 nights.

However, there is one big issue with the hotel-- the location. It's a long-shaped resort in 3 rows of buildings parallel to the main road, so most of the rooms are quite noisy. The first night we stayed in the Jaccuzi Suite (#207), which is in the middle row, but the traffice was loud--you can hear the trucks pass by all the time. When the A/C unit is on, then the traffic sound is covered because the A/C was even louder. Next morning we requested to switch to a more expensive room, which was pool villa for two nights. As it's further from the road and it's ocean front, it was nice and quiet- although I believe some people would still find the A/C a bit loud.

With the first room (the Jaccuzi suite 207) we also had issue with hot water- both the forest shower and the jaccuzi didn't really have much hot water- it was lukewarm--not sure if it was because we arrived late at night and the hot water was finished? The last two nights we had another jaccuzi suite (205 I remember) and the hot water was running fine.

As I was really looking for a quiet resort and good night sleep, I was a bit disappointed at the noise. If you're here for the pool villa, it's quite nice, otherwise I would recommend you to find another hotel to stay.

We booked this hotel based on TA's reviews and couldn't be more disappointed. We had a pool villa overlooking the water, but this place is in urgent need of some tender loving care. I don't think any maintenance has been done for years. Here is a list of the issues just with our room! Paint peeling off everything, lights that don't work, aircon that runs at about 100 db making sleep almost impossible and inconsistent hot water. The breakfast is terrible with cold food and disinterested staff. As this was low season it was sparsely occupied which made it a little more bearable. I'd hate to see it in high season. The hotel's pool can not accommodate more than a dozen people. Avoid this place or am I just too fussy? There are many excellent hotels on Samui. This isn't one.

I have stayed in much larger luxury hotels in the past when in Thailand but they never compared to this one. The rooms were fantastic and the general facilities very good. As part of our opackage we were given upgraded rooms which included an outdoor jacuzzi facing the patio area. This also had shutters for private bathing. The room is decorated very tastefully and is very spacious.

The hotel restaurant served a combination of both European and Thai food. Every single dish eaten was very very good and presented in a very modern way.

There is a lovely infinity pool facing the beach which is a delight. The gym is small but has the essentials to keep trim.

It's at the end of Chaweng Noi Beach which means its's quieter away from the main strect and madness. Having said that the main Chaweng beach area is only 10 minutes away by cab.

I cannot stress just how good a hotel this is. I would recommend this to anyone. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier. Always a smile, very very polite and helpful. You will certainly enjoy the experience. A hotel I will certainly stay at again.

The private infinity pool in the seaview villa is worth every cent of the rate at the sarann. It is the perfect place to get complete privacy with the location of the seaview at the end of the beach on the rocks unlike the other hotels.
But if you want to get to town, it will be a taxi of 5 mins or so in, or during the day its a half hour + walk along the beaches.
The breakfast is nothing extraordinary, but the staff are wonderful. The spa/massage is pricier than the street as expected but not too bad at all and a really good experience.
The finishes are good but the hotel has a feeling like it's new and still working out the little touches that make a hotel that extra great...
that being said, it was perfect for us as we wanted a private getaway.
One thing though, this hotel is not worth it if you get any room but the villa with the pool. Go to the Hansar instead for the same price!

The Sarann is most suitable for traveller seeking for peace but do not want to be too far away from nightlife area however nightlife area is not in a walking distance by is about 5 minutes by private transportation or roughly 10 minutes for hopping off taxi. However the hotel do not have a private beach but the nearby beach can be used within couple minutes walk.
*Warning: a private taxi in Samui is very expensive, prices from the hotel to nightlife central are around 200-300 bahts.

The receptionists were very friendly but not quite efficient when we asked about how long it takes to go to airport from there.
We loved our Jacuzzi suite and the facilities and the bed was very very comfy .But I have to say the service is below standard (aparts from restaurant part) for a 4 stars hotel. We had to ring reception quite few times to get someone to come sort out our air conditioner and the bathtub as it was not very clean. We were waiting for 15 minutes and the house keeper who came in was VERY UNFRIENDLY and the way she talked to us was not in a polite way or how it should be when u go to 4 stars hotel! Her tone (in Thai) sounded like she was annoyed to be called in. I was quite disappointed at this part!

Though the buffet breakfast was delicious and had high quality of service!

So overall, we liked the location as its away from noise but not too far from the centre as well as loved the room and dinning service.
