“Best in Koh Samui”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2012

You can’t get any better than Nora Chaweng when it comes to accommodation in Koh Samui. It is in the heart of Chaweng, perfectly situated in the main road and only 4 min walk to the beach. The hotel is affordable, has lovely rooms, a great pool and the cheapest cocktails in town (79 baht when we were there). Their food is great and offers both local and western options. While you are in the hotel the vibe is relaxing and funny enough very quiet, until you walk out its doors into the hustle and bustle of Chaweng’s main road – the best of both worlds.

This hotel has obviously had some issues in the past. I went to visit my friends there and was not allowed to visit them in their room. I asked for the manager who confirmed that no visitors were allowed up to guests' rooms under any circumstances. I tested this position .....what about if I was a guest and wanted to bring a companion home for the night - "same thing" he said , no visitors allowed. I've never encountered this before.....and was a bit flabbergasted to tell the truth. My advice - stay somewhere else where you guests will be welcome and not hassled

I stayed at this hotel in August, 2011. This is basically just a hotel, not a resort. I was quite happy though, as it was in the centre of Chaweng, just a quick walk to the beach and a 7Eleven.

The room I had was quite spacious, I had a comfy bed and the air-con worked perfectly considering

Spent 3 nights there last summer. The hotel itself is ok, the room is fine and i cant really complain about anything... It is locatend on the main road by Chaweng beach so it's close to all the main bars, restaurants, clubs... The best thing was the price, i booked it because it was super cheap and it's totally worth the money.
If I ever decide to go back to Samui i wouldnt stay there anymore though because it's not on the beach and i had to walk 20 minutes every day to find a nice beach... chaweng beach is so beautiful that it's totally worth to spend a little more money and wake up every morning in front of the sea.

I found this Hotel to be very below average in all areas.

Staff: they tried to provide good service, but they seemed to be more focused on watching tv, reading the paper or making sure they looked good.

Food was always cold and looked like it was re-used day after day. Restaurant was dirty also.

Room not clean mould all through the bathroom, no face washers

Hotel was very hot, only aloud 1 room key so always come back to hot room after tours (36degree days)

Very disappointing

this place was very middle of the road for me.
price was good, as was location, but it was very noisy (on the south side of the hotel), due to the clubs next door going until 2am.
the cocktails were cheap as (79 baht!!) (big ups!!!)
the rooms were neat, tidy, simple.
the pool was dirty with tissues (but from the papers in the lobby, it was packed with contiki people).
btw, coldest pool i had been to in thailand!
buffee was ok, middle of the road, but THEY HAD BACON!!!! which any thailand traveller will tell you can be hard to find in all you can eat quantities.
bed was comfy, staff were good.
not much else to say, it was just a quick over nighter for us.

Room Tip: queen room was nice, but shop around if you have the time, there is better out there

This place is located at the northern end of the Chaweng Bay. You are close to restaurants, clubs and bars with live music and still have your peace and quiet when you go to sleep.
I had the pleasure to be attended by the very friendly Ms Orn and Mr. Monthicha at the reception. All the other staff were also very helpfull. The rates vary according to the season, check out the hotel website http://norachawenghotel.com/

This is what you get:
-- A rather large, comfortable well equipped room that I would describe as "modern/ retro style"
-- A nice bathroom with a tub
-- Full Western/ Asian breakfast buffet with attentive service
-- A Pool in the shade

If you want to go to the beach, cross the road, walk some 200 m north and rent an umbrella and a chair for 100 B./ day at the OK Restaurant.
