It is quite sad to read negative comments about this place, we had an amazing time and excellent service. The room we had was really nice, the buffet breakfast and staff were excellent, and most the people spoke Australian. We felt very welcomed.

Laundry service was 10/10, even room service. When we asked for the bed to be changed it was done. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the swimming pool, was great because we shared a swimming pool on our back balcony with 5 other rooms

I have stayed for my last 3 holidays on Samui at the Amari which is itself a lovely resort. I have no complaints at all about the Amari but always go for a wander and check-out the opposition.

The Sareeraya is on the same quiet stretch of beach as the Amari but has a beautiful swimming pool. Perfect for a proper swim - around 25 metres length and straight with no islands or waterfalls blocking your rhythm. There is a swim-up bar at the end as well. It is only available to residents though I got away with using it the first time.

I've had breakfast several times there now and it really is a first class resort where the food is top notch and the staff speak very good English and really couldn't be more helpful.

It is a little more expensive than the Amari but you get the feeling that it is worth it. I was shown one of the jacuzzi suites on one visit and I think sumptuous is the best description. You have a lovely room and massive bed and also a sunbathing area which leads down into a pool which opens up into a bigger pool shared by other residents. If you want to stay in your little part of the pool it is secluded and also with the push of a button becomes a jacuzzi.

I am seriously considering paying a bit extra for a 2 week holiday at the Sareeraya. It is an improvement on the Amari and that is no small compliment as I can't fault the Amari in any aspect.

Unlike the Amari it is also self-contained and not split by a road. I can say the beds seemed a little hard but that is common in Thailand and is something that is easily resolved with a quilt or two being tucked under the bed sheet to take the edge off it. I've no doubt the very helpful staff at the Sareeraya would sort that out as they do at the Amari.

As I say, I have never stayed at the Sareeraya so can't honestly offer a full rating of it but I would imagine it would rank with anything on Samui and certainly it is nowhere near as expensive as say the Santiburi - again I have never been to that resort so can't compare it.

Room Tip: Get a Jaccuzzi suite.

Many thanks for leaving feedback about your recent visits to Sareeraya Villas & Suites and sharing your praise with the TripAdvisor community. At Chef’s Table Restaurant we aim to provide the highest quality food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and we are pleased to read that you enjoyed the food and the service.

The swimming pool offers a refreshing retreat to the guest of the hotel and constitutes a perfect way to unwind over a chilled cocktail. Our rooms are well appointed and have many personal touches, which make them finest in the area. The Suite Jacuzzi you saw during your visit is very well described in your review.

We are glad you stumbled upon us and hope to be your hotel of choice on your next trip to Koh Samui!

My wife and I have chosen Sareeraya Samui as a second stop for our honeymoon after another hotel.
We have been extremely pleased by the quality of service, maintenance, facility and of course the lovely and firendly attitude of the staff. Sareeraya has managed to make us enjoy the second bit of our honeymoon that has been almost spoilt by the first hotel we stayed in (so called 5 stars).
We woukd definitely recommend to friends and family and if we come back to Samui, this hotel will be among the top 3 we would consider.
Well done all as you deserve your rating on Tripadvisor...
Should only consider more variety of fresh juices on breakfast.

We have been slow in writing this review we stayed in March April of 2012 and we had a lovely experience. This hotel was by far one of the nicer resorts in Chaweng Beach. The food was fantastic and sitting in the pool sipping on cocktails during happy hour made the trip even sweeter.
All of the service staff were fantastic and the cooking class was great fun and worth the money. It is located in a great spot not right in Chaweng but in walking distance. The beach was lovely and there are other beach resorts close by for good food and wine as well (not as good as Sareeraya). There was only one thing we did not like and it was not the resorts fault but the fireworks that would go off on the beach at night. they were very loud and a distraction. There are people selling them on the beach and they can go off at any time at night. If you are looking for an upmarket resort that is modern and is in a great location we recommend you stay at Sareeraya.

Room Tip: We stayed in resort suites and we recommend the ground floor if you don't mind sharing a pool with others. We started on the second floor with a Jacuzzi and moved to the ground floor with pool access we had a 9 month old with us and he appreciated the change as well.
