We stayed here in April for 6 days in a seaview pool villa... the main pool in this resort is quite small and was very busy... with children of all ages and their parents.. the pool in our villa was more of a plunge pool and we were really surprised to come home one night to find our pool was totally empty of water, we reported this next morning and it was then quickly filled back up again only the water was very very merky and took over 36 hours of filtering to get it clean... very unhappy as paying $500 a night you do expect more... in six days we did not see one person swim at the beach, the beach is also disappointing at low tide..
Staff are very friendly and breakfast is great... Resort is just that far enough from the noisy end of the beach and compared to other hotels in the area Sareeraya Villas & Suites was by far the better hotel but it was expensive for what it is... on arrival we were told a person will be coming tomorrow to speak to us about tours etc.. and as it was our first time to Koh Samui we thougth this would be a great help... we hung around the hotel all day waiting for the person also went to reception for help but was told no one was coming.. so we went outside the hotel for tours etc...overall this was a good hotel but we have stayed all over Thailand and found this hotel quite expensive for what is was..

Dear robin h,

Thank you for staying with us during your recent trip to Koh Samui. We are glad that you were satisfied with our great breakfast buffet, and our friendly staff, who strive to make every guest feel welcome.

We regret reading that you had some issues with booking tours, however, we would like to point out that the meeting you had was organized by your ground handling agent and not by our hotel. Our hotel is not responsible if ground handling agents fail to deliver their services.

The plunge pools in our villas have an open water circulation limited hours from 10-19 every day to keep the noise from the pump at a minimum. During the night while the Jacuzzi was running in your plunge pool, but the water was not circulating anymore, the pool emptied itself. Normally re-filling the plunge pool does not take more than a couple of hours. If guests wish to use the plunge pool after 19, they may contact us at any time to re-open the water circulation. We apologize if this was not explained to you upon check in.

Please note that our hotel is ideal for couples looking for a peaceful and pampering retreat, however, there are some times of the year, where there is a changeover of guests, and during the time you visited us, there were more families than the norm due to school holidays.

Nevertheless, thank you again for staying with us and we do hope you will give us another chance to serve you in the future.

Best Regards

Not my first visit to this lovely hotel. It is still my favorite on Chaweng. Kind of a boutique hotel style with very friendly staff (only about 50 suites/villa). I always really feel like coming home again. Especially I appreciate the good location: it is not in the hustle/bustle area of the town but at the same time, everything can be reached in walking distance. Spending my times at Pool, you will be pampered by the Pool Boys who really try to do everything for you. Thank you boys!! This time I was lucky to get Jacuzzi Suite on the 3rd floor. Splendid view over the the Gulf of Siam while you relax in the Jacuzzi. Room is quite spacious. Breakfast was again excellent. Loved especially the home-made jams (the coconut is my favored!!) and the Crepes. Thank you Sareeraya, looking forward to my next stay. Hopefully a little bit longer!

Room Tip: Get a room on the 2nd or 3 rd Floor to get the Seaview

My husband and I stayed at the Sareerya for our honeymoon... and it was amazing.

We booked a pool villa with access to both our own in room plunge (private) and another pool area at the back of our villa for a sml number of guests. The pool villa was well worth the cost and definitely made the stay.

The food was great. Huge breakfast selection, I don't eat eggs and there was still plenty to choose from.

We had lunch at the restaurant or by the pool some days and the pad thai was the best we ate on the whole trip.

Happy hour is not to be missed, makes the cocktails as cheap as other parts of the beach and you can trust the quality. Thoroughly recommend the Long Island iced tea :)

The food is OK priced for the location however we ate almost everyday at the cafes set up on the beach, the food was amazing and cheap and was a nice walk.

We indulged in the private dinner on the beach, if you can DO IT. The food was incredible and so much of it. We booked one night and it rained on our way down to the beach, they let us reschedule to another night on the spot so we could enjoy the experience which was awesome.

This is definitely on the quieter side of the beach however we walked around some nights and ended up back near the sareerya because quiet (ie not a full moon party) was exactly what we wanted.

The only negative, which couldn't be avoided was there was a family group of 40 pple there at the same time as us, with lots of small kids. The used the main pool and bar as their own area and made it impossible for us to use the pool or access the bar / restaurent towards the end of the trip. While it cant be avoided, because they were spending lots of $$ by the pool they had priority service.....something to be mindful of as it did impact our stay. You will want to get in early to reserve your seat by the pool.

Overall a great location and perfect for a honeymoon.

Room Tip: Stay as close to the front of the resort as possible, though is reserved for villas.

Have just left Sareeraya following 10 days of absolute bliss. We stayed in one of the sea view pool villas as part of the 'loving delight' package for our honeymoon. The room was stunning, equipped with a large jacuzzi bath and plunge pool- incidentally the plunge pool was much more private than the equivalent in the presidential villa, which is in full view of the beach. The staff were attentive and friendly, and it was obvious that there was an excellent team ethic. After a couple of days all the staff recognized us and made a point of stopping to talk.
The food in the restaurant and the poolside was delicious. I would highly recommend booking the romantic dinner if it isn't included in your package, I have never seen as much beautiful seafood and the setting is just perfect.
The hotel is close enough to Chaweng to have a variety of things to do, but far enough away that you feel a bit more secluded and private.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Thanks so much!

This hotel was wonderful. The staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was spectacular and reasonably priced (both Western and Thai food). It's a great location - walk along the beach or street to Chaweng, however it's cooler to walk along the beach. Or of course, don't leave! The Touts come along the beach selling their wares and all you need to do is go down the the rope border on the beach to buy your souvenirs :-). We would definitely choose to stay here again. There were some people with children there, however it's a small hotel and I think would be better suited to people travelling without children. I have 2 children and I wouldn't choose to take them to a place like this as I think it would disrupt other guests.

Room Tip: The villas are magnificent, but the standard suites are too. 1st floor suites have access to a pool...

We stayed here late in March 2014, and it proved to be a very comfortable and cozy experience. Rooms are extremely large, and overall lovely. We having stayed along Chaweng on two previous recent occasions, had often noticed Sareeraya, and decided to pay a little extra this time to try it out. It did certainly offer decent value for money, but not the WOW factor we had expected.

We stayed in room #309, which was very large, with a ridiculously huge bed, which had a reasonable sea-view. However, it would seem that other views are less obstructed by trees from the opposite building. Breakfast is nice, but better a few doors along at the Amari Palm Reef.

In essence, we were surveying this hotel with the potential of getting married there this time next year. We had notified the relevant staff in advance that this would be our intention, and they responded by informing us that there would be a wedding taking place two days prior to our arrival should we wish to oversee the event. We contacted the hotel by return on the day to say we would pop down as we were staying just along the beach, asking what time we should be there, but nobody responded. That being the case, we arrived at the hotel too early for the wedding ceremony, nobody welcomed us or was expecting us, and we consequently missed it!

On our check-in two days later, we were allocated a nice enough room. However, not offered an upgrade like several others were around the similar time according to reviews. It appeared that the hotel was not totally full, but am not sure we would have appreciated all other options, as pool access looking out onto a brick wall is not that appealing on Chaweng Beach!? However, and even if not expected, any offer would have been a much appreciated gesture, as it was in all other hotels on our trip.

Thereafter, our stay was extremely pleasant, but quite surprisingly, not a single member of staff saw it fit to acknowledge us, or contact us to discuss potential wedding plans at all. So, instead, we spent much of our free time at other hotels, eating there, viewing their facilities, whilst being made to feel a lot more welcome my marketing and management staff.

Some other good points - the hotel is tiny, and very quiet. The views are lovely, and you are in a very decent location. I fell ill, and it was also very handy having such an amazing hospital literally across the road.

Slightly on the negative, the TV's in such grand rooms are pretty poor, too small, and a little dated now. The pool bar is extremely uncomfortable, and there is an total lack of atmosphere at times around it. You find yourself whispering as it so dead, and there is not even any music being played. Overall the property is in nice order, but it could do with a tidy up in parts. Much of the glass around the suite buildings was very, very dirty, and the grass areas were neglected and a bit untidy in comparison to the property as a whole. Further, and even though this is not the hotel's fault, this north end of the beach is currently extremely filthy, with all kinds of garbage being washed up 24/7. This shocked us quite a bit, and was very off-putting. At the south end, around the Buri Rasa/Banana Fan/Ozo, the beach is currently way, way nicer. I also have no idea why the hotel feels the need to wrap the outside of such a high-end property with all kinds of huge promotional posters - we found this a little tacky. As another comparison, you would not find this at the Amari Palm Reef.

As for food, we considered the beach buffet, but even after a 20% resident discount, still seemed highly excessively priced compared to others along the beach where we ate.

We will we be holding our wedding here - based on other's reviews of those who had, potentially. Based on our experiences, highly unlikely.

Dear Paul C,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your time in Koh Samui and glad you had a comfortable and cozy experience.

We apologize that we seem to have missed your last email regarding the wedding inspection. However, we do wish you had given us a call before your arrival so that we could have confirmed the suitable time for you and meet you on your arrival. While you were staying at the hotel, we tried to contact you several times in your room number, but unfortunately we never reached you. We wish you had contacted our front office staff during your stay regarding this so that we could have organized a suitable time to meet and discuss with you.

Furthermore, we are sorry you felt our pool bar lacked ambiance. Music is a subjective opinion of personal taste, however, we appreciate you taking the time to share your comment. We also wish you had decided to try our weekly BBQ Buffet, as the food that we offer is high quality, wide and varied and regularly complimented by our guests as a great value.

We rake our beachfront several times a day and our beachfront is often said to be the most beautiful in the area. Nevertheless, pieces of drifting seaweed sometimes wash ashore depending on the season and weather conditions. Our staff is doing their best to ensure that it is removed along the shore and the beach is kept clean.

All in all, we regret that you felt neglected and do sincerely hope you will give us a chance to serve you again in the future.

Best Regards,
