I searched and searched for hotels in Ko Samui, Chaweng Beach, before finally deciding on this one. The main thing that sold it was the price, as if you book the hotel seperately through 'LateStay.com' then you get some great deals - we paid 89 quid a night between 2 of us for the grand deluxe jacuzzi room.
Basically, this hotel is just pure unadulterated luxury! the rooms are lovely, with huge beds (not masses of space in the room), sofas and a coffee table. the bathroom was massive, with a double jacuzzi. This was so nice, as the bathroom lights were set on a sequence that changed colour and looked really romantic. the shower is also huge!
there was no balcony, so if this is something you want then you ahve to specify this with the hotel.
you dont need a balcony however as the hotel is so big, with different areas to hang out in. there are 2 different bars, and the resturant is amazing! i dont advise eating there as it is way more expensive that the lovely resturants on chaweng beach. however, for a snack or a drink the views are trully spectacular!!
the pool is an infinity pool with incredible views.
the only draw backs are that the service is a bit slow, but saying this everyone working there treats you like royalty and is so polite!
you cannot walk to the beach from here, but there is a free shuttle that runs to and from the beach 3 times a day. other than this you can take a taxi for about 5 quid.

all in all an excellent hotel which is leagues and leagues above any of the others on chaweng beach. the only reason not to stay here would be if you wanted to be on the beach or within 10 minutes walking distance.

final tip - go to ark bar for awesome drinks on the beach and parties. eat in any of the resturants of the row of 5 near ark bar as you can lounge out, just meters away from the shore, sitting on the sand and have fresh fish, salad, sides, cocktails all for about 6 quid per person!! try the seven seas. best meal i've ever had!!

further down, Naad Jim Tal Raad/ monkey bar is an awesome plce to have cocktails on the beach.

in terms of travel, flying to bangcok and ko samui airports was the easiest travelling ive ever done!! it was a dream and i couldnt get ove rhow easy and well organised everything was. go to the economy lounge in bangcok as there is free food and drink, and this is the same in the departure lounge in Samui.

The KC Resort & Over Water Villas offer spectacular panoramic views of Koh Samui. The basic Grand Deluxe Jacuzzi Rooms afford the best views and are the most economically priced. Orbitz is currently running fantastic deals (around $120 USD / night). Request a room facing the ocean on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors. Each room has a balcony with a two person jacuzzi. Views from rooms on the first floor could be obstructed.

If you are traveling with your significant other and plan on spending a lot of time at the resort, an upgrade to an Over Water Villa (for the right price) would be adviseable. A couple we were traveling with were able to upgrade for approximately an additional $100 USD nightly charge. The villas are well appointed and each have their own private plunge pool. There are 16 villas in total (four per level). If possible, request one of the villas on the upper two levels furtherest away from the traditional hotel rooms (more private, better views).

Other than upgrading to an Over Water Villa, other room categories are actually a step back from the standard Grand Deluxe Jacuzzi Rooms (much worse views, lack of balconies).

The hotel currently offers three daily shuttles each way to / from Chewang Beach. If you take advantage of the shuttle, it will drop you off in an area where most of the beach access / chairs are controlled by different hotels. To get a decent spot on the beach, you will have to patronize a beachside restaurant / bar (like Eat Sense Restaurant). They have beachside chairs and umbrellas. You will have to bring your own towells from KC.

KC is currently building a sister resort directly on Chewang Beach. When completed, the two resorts will share amenities, etc. This will be a significant enhancement.

Breakfast at the KC is typically included with your stay. The food is ok, but service is lackluster.

Lunch and dinner at the restaurant or bar is quite good. In fact, the hotel offers some of the better food in Koh Samui (for a splurge, The Page Restaurant at The Library Hotel is fantastic).

KC offers complimentary wireless Internet. The pool is quite nice, but becomes shaded around 3 PM. The gym is average.

Overall, KC Resort and Over Water Villas is a great hotel (especially for the value). I would highly recommend the resort, and would stay there again. The views are stunning (doubt there are better views from any other hotel in Koh Samui). I would consider all other amenities to be of high 3 star, 4 star quality. If the resort focuses on improving services, they can become a consistent, four star hotel.

This hotel was amazing - I've never stayed anywhere like it in my life! The rooms were so well thought out and designed and the attention to detail in all aspects of the hotel was outstanding. The view is fantastic - so romantic to be sitting in the jacuzzi looking out over the sea... ahhh take me back!!

Its maybe 10min walk to the beach which is the only downside, but that is by far outweighed by the view. Its also nice to have the choice of the busy Chaweng south beach or the quieter north beach - both within easy reach. We walked a lot - but if your less able bodied, the hotel will drive you down to the main road and organise a taxi or sawgenthaw for you (Taxi's seemed to be very expensive no matter where you were or going to on ths island - well, expensive for Thailand). in the evenings we walked along the beach or along the main road into Chaweng - again, as the weather was good it was a nice maybe 15-20min walk.

One tip - call ahead before you arrive at port / airport and arrange a pick-up from the hotel. Our taxi cost about 400bt from the airport - its barely a kilometer away!

The pool is beautiful and as the hotel was quiet when we stayed, we had it pretty much to ourselves. Tried out the gym too - its a wee bit dull compared to the rest of the resort. From the hotel rooftop you can see a panarama of the whole of Samui.

We loved this hotel - two nights simply weren't long enough :-)

A pretty awesome hotel to stay at. Lets get the cons out of the way first....its not on the beach or even close to it, so if that is important to you, this isnt the place for you. Service was a tad bit slow (took a little over 45 minutes to get a bucket of ice) and the staff dont seem as knowledgeable as they should be (for instance, they didn't know if the hotel is part of any membership programs). Breakfast is crazy expensive at 600B per person.
Beyond that though, the hotel is pretty awesome. Located on top of a hill, you get incredible views from pretty much every room! Every room comes equipped with a pretty large jacuzzi and the 3 tiered pool is absolutely amazing! When you are in it, it pretty much feels like an infinity pool stretching into the ocean. There also dont seem to be any rules regarding the use of the pool so definitely venture out for a mid night swim under the starry sky! The bathroom is incredible as well with an amazing shower. The room itself is also very tastefully put together. If you can splurge, definitely get the Villa!
There is also a steam and sauna which doesnt seem to be advertised for some reason and another very big communal jacuzzi that no one seemed to know about and was empty throughout my 4 day stay there. The restaurants are expensive, but there are plenty of reasonably priced dining option nearby within a short walk, or if you have a car then you can go pretty much anywhere. Free parking is available within the resort. Also, wifi is available through out the hotel.

The hotel is breathtaking, situated up on a mountain, it offers excellent views of the ocean and surrounding scenery. The rooms are excellent, with a jacuzzi on the balcony, with modern and classy features in the bathroom and bedroom. The swimming pool is lovely with again superb views. There is a roof top garden, which is needed as the sunbathing area is very limited at the pool and becomes shaded by 2pm. We only ate once at the hotel, through room service, which was very nice, big portions, but very expensive! The hotel provides a shuttle service to aid in getting down to the bottom of the hill (thankgod). Its a 15 minute walk into town, but not the most pleasant as its down a busy road, but a taxi is cheap.
There were a few negatives along the way... The staff didn't come across as very friendly and we gained a feeling that you were just another number to them. We were disgusted when we went to the lounge room to use the free guest internet and a member of staff who was working was using it. We were then told that he will be finished in a while, so we had to wait 10 minutes to gain access to it, i think they forgot who was actually paying for these facilities. On the 5th day out of a total of 7, we had a shock when building work commenced in the pool area, with lots of load noise and many pieces of wood and tools scattered around. We were not informed about this building work before we booked and nothing was offered in compensation. On the day of our departure, we ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes at the reception with a taxi metre running, whilst our bags where retrieved from our room, we could not understand this as the hotel was not even 25% full occupancy.
Overall the hotel itself was excellent, very modern and trendy, but the customer service and attention needs to improve if they intend to charge 5* prices!!
