We had a lovely stay at the Mercure in January 2014. The hotel rooms are nice and well looked after, they have everything you need in them. The breakfast staff were wonderful! They made us feel very welcome and remembered us every morning! Good location, everything you would expect from an Accor Mercure property.

We have a suite on the second floor, very nicely decorated as the whole hotel is. It's a town hotel so no view and that cannot be changed so the view in on the main road. Nevertheless we haven't been bothered by outside noises and we could sleep very well. What makes the hotel a jewel is the staff: attentive, gentle and collaborative. Our thanks to Ms Noon, Ms Be, Mr Tum and to all the others who made our stay very nice.

Beautiful little hotel in chaweng beach. Tastefully designed, super clean!!
Its a great quiet place, in the mess of chaweng.

The staff is Lovely. The most amazing women there is Neong, the bar meneger. She remembered our names from the first day and we actually became friends! I loved seeing her every morning. She brightened up my day.
Neong, I hope you see this- I will never forget you! Thanks for everything. Love you!! :)

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for some quiet and luxury, and yet be in the heart of the action.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel as a good, cheap option on an otherwise pricey island. Located right in the action of Chaweng Beach, only a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The property itself is well designed and maintained to a high standard- although the pool area is fairly small, it is also a comfortable area to sit.

We avoided the Fuji restaurant based on other reviews of the service (it appears to be a concession outlet - markedly different feel to the rest of the hotel) and instead ate breakfast and dinner almost every night in the Baantana restaurant - the staff here were one of the highlights of our trip - friendly, attentive and remembered our names and preferences. Good selection of Thai and standard western fare.

The rooms are clean and functional - meet expectations expected of a 3 star international hotel. As mentioned in some other reviews, there are however some drawbacks - for the first four nights we stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor, away from the road. The only drawback of these rooms was highlighted on the fourth night when a group checked into to a few rooms around us - you can hear every conversation from the corridor and opening/closing of doors of neighboring rooms... Eventually after midnight we contacted reception and they promptly asked the guests to return to their rooms. The following day we moved rooms to a junior suite right on the corner of the hotel above the road, a spacious and comfortably appointed room - only drawback (which the staff warned us of) is the road noise - mostly from taxis honking their horns and the mobile advertisements for the Muay Thai driving up and down the street every couple of minutes - after 2300 it did quieten down a fair bit so not a problem with sleep.

Also had one of my more bizarre hotel experiences here - one day the reception presented me with a used face washer from our room and explained as it was marked, they would need to charge us 100THB (AU$4) for the damage... We instead opted to have the item laundered outside and returned it fully cleaned - no harm done, obviously the hotel isn't there to pay for guest damage, however a little management discretion might have avoided an awkward situation.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road are likely to be quieter unless you have noisy neighbors...

we are delighted to read that you had an comfortable stay and enjoyed our hotel facilities and service. It is always encouraging to learn that guests are satisfied with our services as it is what we strive for every day. The comment to the staff friendliness especially to F&B staffs which have been shared and all of them made us very proud.

Regarding to the damage charge, the hotel will not proceed the damage charge if in case it is accidentally happen but if the hand towel had been mis-used for the other purpose, we have no other choice to apply for the additional charge to the guest due to the additional cost. However, we are grateful for your kind suggestion to us and we will certainly take your good notes to ascertain the areas you mentioned for our service improvement.

Very pleasent place to stay. Rooms are big, quiet and very comfortable. Always helpful personel. Location very conveniente to go to bars, restaurants, beach for some shopping. Small minus is for internet - to have a "normal" speed you pay extra.

The location of this hotel is great for easy access to the Main Street running through Chaweng. You are a short walk away from tons of restaurants and bars.

The hotel itself is quite nice. The rooms are a bit on the narrow side but the beds are comfortable, everything is clean, there is a safe for your personal belongings and private balcony.

The pool area is very relaxing as well and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
