“Dining in Restaurant Excellent”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

Although we didn't stay at this Resort, we stayed in a nearby resort, we dined here twice on our 8 day holiday. The food was by far the best quality we had. The flavours were just divine and the staff were lovely. The view across the ocean was relaxing and the vibe perfect to remind you where you are on holiday.

I would recommend this casual dining restaurant to anyone who is looking forward to a night out. Also they had happy hour too and cocktails were only $99 Baht. The best thing is they didn't reduce the size of the glass, you got standard cocktail for the price. Reasonable food, wonderful flavour!

Chalala was one of my favorite places in Thailand. wonderfully quirky bungalows right on the beach at quiet end of beach. quite a way from ferry port but lots of transport available, local trucks cheapest way, 100 baht each. Rooms had WiFi, air con, safe, free water and toiletries. Nice pool and sun beds. Restaurant on beach not bad value but lots of places nearby. Usual 7/11 and shops close by. Sea was very shallow for a long way out. Not so good for snorkeling. Would stay here anytime.

This is a lovely little place to stay. Position on outskirts of chaweng about 15 minute walk to centre. The chalets are real hip hop suitable for anyone except perhaps if you cant manage steps as they are split level. A lovely ambiance and very quiet. Very clean. The staff are helpful, lovely little pool area with sunbeds and nearly on the beach. Everything is on hand from restaurants supermarket massage beauty laundry all within a 2 minute walk. The only minus would be that the food in the restaurant is really naff, not dirty or anything just not good, but lots of other places for breakfast and dinner so dont be put off by this.

Room Tip: All the chalets are kwirky and individual

This was the perfect place for us to stay on Samui. Chalala is at the quiet northern end of Chaweng, well away from the nightclubs but only 10 minutes' walk into town so lots of shopping and food choices for the boys.

The resort itself is tiny (about 30 rooms) and the staff know you by sight very quickly. Jazz at reception is really helpful and happy to share her knowledge - she also knew me by name every time I saw her! It's a small resort with a decent pool (not too big) and bungalow style accommodation. It has its own massage hut on the beach and the restaurant/bar overlooks the beach, as well as having tables on the sand. The food isn't overly cheap but is good value by Samui standards. There's a 7-11 and a pharmacy directly opposite, and the laundry to the left of its entrance does washing very economically. It's not a 5-star resort, but is clean, friendly, has great quirky rooms and has everything we needed for a lovely stay. I'll happily stay there again next time.

Stayed here for 7 nights as the 2nd stage of our Island hopping, bungalows are well sized and have free wifi and cable Tv there was always hot water though the shower was non adjustable so you really needed to take it off the wall and hold it, rooms cleaned daily, staffs English was quite limited apart from the manager who was very helpful. 15 minute stroll into the center of Chewang beach with a 7/11 opposite. Hotel is right on the beachfront but its taken up with tables and chairs, there is no beds so you have to pay for them from other hotels. Food at the hotel is fine not outstanding but still good, the swimming pool is small but clean and has adequate sunbeds, well it did during our stay as the monsoon hit about 6 weeks early and all it did apart from one day was rain and I mean rain. Would not hesitate to suggest this hotel to anyone coming to Koh Samui, its not posh but then again it is not posh prices. Found Koh Samui to be incredibly expensive, its 8 years since I was last here and although I appreciate that the £££ is weak at the moment I think £150 each for a 3 hour quad bike trip/ £9 for a box of paracetomol/ and approx £40-£50 for a decent meal (without alcohol) to be rather expensive for an Island that still attracts backpackers

Room Tip: Rooms all ok

Although this hotel is right on the beach it is not the place to stay if you want to lay on the beach .... the resturant table and chairs are right to the waters edge and the sea is not very inviting a bit dirty looking.
The hotel grounds are kept clean and the swimming pool is sparkling.
Our bed was a mattress was on the floor and by the end of our stay our backs were begining to feel it, if suffering from bad hips on knees this could have caused a problem getting up and down.
Although in Chaweng there was no night noise and a peaceful resort within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and night life.

Feb 2013 marks our second visit to this family friendly and affordable resort in Koh Samui. We were here in July 2012. A warm welcome from Jazz at the reception, she remembers our family. Our bungalow was the same one right next to the swimming pool as we had requested. Everyday housekeeping cleans the room, bottled water and fresh towels are provided. The whole resort is well maintained and clean. The restaurant served very nice thai cuisine and snacks at reasonable prices. Our children always had ice cream after main course. And the massages by the beach are the best and most relaxing we have experienced! Again they could remember our family. Just outside the resort are the 7-11, family mart, laundrette and pharmacy. Chaweng town is just 10 minutes walk away and in the evenings we'll have a stroll by the beach and then have our dinner. A very good, relaxing & affordable place to stay with family who are just looking for a cozy place. We paid CHF100 per night and that's within our budget. We would definately come back again in the near future.
