“Tranquility away from the main strip of Chaweng. A hotel with an exceptionally beautiful view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We booked this hotel because of the view from the pool, and when we got there after a 26 hour journey and 3 flights it definitely didn't disappoint. The beach is a couple of foot steps away from the pool, which is perfect as with some hotels and places we've stayed in we've had to travel to the beach. So when you've had enough of sunbathing you can seek shade at the sun loungers by the pool. The beach is very clean and spacious outside the hotel. Sometimes the tide comes in right to the hotel pool steps which isn't really a problem as you can just walk a little further down to find plenty of beach space.

LOCATION - is ideal if you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife (Chaweng strip). It's walking distance from the main strip. However sometimes after a long night out we'd get the taxi back to our room, which only cost about 250 baht (approx £4.50).

ROOM - the room was clean and maintained well during our stay. Sometimes we'd come in to find towels in the shape of swans or palm tree leaves in the shape of flowers and roses. The room was very spacious, with a balcony overlooking the garden which resembled a tropical rainforest, it was very beautiful. The only thing which again wasn't a problem is that the hotel advert on expedia didn't explain is you'd have to cross the road to get to the pool, so the pool was like a separate entity to the hotel. It might be a bit difficult for people with disabilities.

The main reason why i didn't give the hotel 5 stars rating is the following;
the reception staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful (don't trust their advice for which moped rental to go for as they will pick the ones across the road which weren't very good, walk a bit further down and you'll find a much better one with better bikes).
The breakfast buffet was a disgrace - i've stayed in a lot of hotels but this breakfast really disappointed me and after a few days i didn't bother getting up for it. The choice was very limited. The fruit was warm, the eggs were cold need I go on?. Also the staff at the restaurant seemed like they couldn't be bothered to do their job and made us feel unwelcome. Please note the Olivio restaurant menu is very over priced compared to the other restaurants in Koh Samui, the food again is very average and nothing to write home about.

All in all i would stay here again, mainly for the view and the pool

Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed.
They picked up us at the airport with a van and in less than fifteen minutes we were at the hotel.
It was located in north Chaweng, walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets and massage places.
We were received with a complimentary drink and a flower bracelet. While we were doing the check in they informed us that we had been upgraded from a superior to a deluxe room.
The room was big, clean with a very confortable bed. The bathroom was a dream! It was also big and clean, and included a hidromassage!!!
Service was amazing!!! Staff were very polite and helpful. They also gave us a complimentary basket with little bananas and tangerines that were delicious!
It had a swimming pool with two sectores: one profound for adultos and a separated one for children. It was surrounded by a wood deck with sunbathing chairs and sun umbrellas. From there was an access to the beach. In that part of the beach, there was small sand (specially during the morning) and the sea was very calm.
Hotel restaurant where we had breakfast was close to the swimming pool, justo in from of the beach with an amazing view. It was a pleasure to have breakfast there!!! Besides that, food was varied and yummy.
We loved this place!!!!!

Stayed as 4 people and an infant. Difficult to get around with a baby cart due to many steps. Nice waterfall around the rooms and great atmosphere. Small infinity pool with a great view where u can eat from the hotel restaurant "olivio" and borrow a kayak for the beach. Big mosquito problem around the hotel. Furniture is dated and walls could use a paint job. Water Pressure is OK, would be nicer to have a newer TV. Location is around 10min walk from the center of chaweng. Overall worth the price I think the pool view makes it all.

Large, modern, comfortable room. Private pool had a fantastic view. Beautiful gardens, great variety at breakfast, very friendly staff. Resort positioned at a great location, quieter spot but not a far walk to busier part of town.

We stayed in this resort during october 2013. I was there on my birthday and the staff brought out a wonderful cake during breakfast for me. Resort is a bit far from the happening areas of Chaweng, but great stay but was easily accessible (just a 15 mins walk from the party area). Pleasant stay and nice property. Decent breakfast too. Would recommend to anyone.

My sister and I spent 6 days, 5 nights here, Staff superb, rooms spotless, nice touches, all staff spoke English, service at the pool great, buffet breakfast with all the hot choices, eggs etc including traditional Thai food. Only negative would be the restaurant - went for dinner and whilst the service was good the food was sadly average, Having said that the pool is sublime we had a massage on the beach literally five steps from the hotel, thought it may put us to sleep as we had just arrived but quite the opposite we felt re-vitalised and went out on the town. Koh Samui is Beautiful from the moment you arrive at the quaintest flowery scented airport. For me Koh Samui has the perfect mix of beach, food, relaxation and night life - a much much more laid back version of Phuket - actually they can't compare Koh Samui wins

We have been here for three days and staying here another two days and we can't enough of it!!! It is so amazing. Although it is low season and not many people are present in the hotel, staff is spoiling us with their service. Thai people are so nice!!!
Villa is just perfect! It feels like private pool is in our living room how connected it is with the room, we are watching tv from the pool :))) Cleaning is extraordinary, every day we get animal shaped towels at the bed, today it was monkey :))) jacuzzi is also there just to feel more spoiled
Food in restaurant oliva is amazing, everything we have tried was so delicious and even though we are coming from the country with great food we don't have any remarks. Really!
Sea and the nature around the hotel is amazing, you can even see a little snake, lizard and a mice, of course staff is making sure it is not dangerous :)
We need to stay for another two days and we are already depressed we need to live ;)
I have been many places and this is my first review since i didn't feel anywhere like this so far
Thanks to the hotel staff for this amazing experience :)

Room Tip: Villa number 4 (our villa) is amazing :) a bit hidden but the entrance looks like we have garden ent...
